So let's just say the stars align and the Preds are able to swing a deal for Hemsky/AK47 and Rads decides to come back over to fulfill the last year of his ELC. Obviously this scenario is probably based more on hope than reality but just hypothetically if it did happen are we up there with Detroit,Vancouver,NYR,Boston as cup favorites?

we'll likely only end up with one those guys, but if we did have all 3, there's no doubt. heck, 2 of them would make us favorites in my mind.

Unless we land a superstar, no one (outside of Nashville) will consider us Cup favorites because we've never really done anything in the playoffs.

So we are back to about the same as before....Sorry for the interuption.
Carry on.
Thanks for correction. I was wondering why wouldn't like to play for Preds, cause I know he wants to play with his brother.

I also want people to stop making assumptions that AK and SK won't work together.
They talk to each other every single day. They are best friends, I dont know where people coming from that they have problems with each other.

They are more competitive when they on the same team, because they compete with each other also, it is well known fact that AK production was better when SK was with the big club.
Just an example of their first game together in PO against Boston: SK scores on the first shift, and going by bench saying "your turn Bro!" AK goes on and score.

BTW that was they best PO performance, when they played together.

They both want to play together, they played good together on the same line in couple of stretches for Montreal.

So yes, I have my own interest in Preds getting AK, but I also know that they not greedy and they'll take a discount to stay together.
They completely different players, and both capable of 50+ points, so it is perfect time for Polie to see how they will do together and make a decision on both.

Polie said already that he is not trading anybody of current roster, so AK is really the only one option we have that can bring some production...

We don't have a top 50 point getter (Erat = 58th), Chicago has FOUR

Eklund on Hockeybuzz:

"Pahlsson is most likely en route to NJ or Nashville."

Thought it was interesting, but it is Ek.

Spaling 2.0.

Don't know why we'd be interested in Pahlsson.

True but I'm not talking about what fans or media think I'm talking about if the team is good enough to be considered along side those teams. Right now realistically we are one step below. I'm just wondering out loud if we added those players if we would then be on their tier.

this is the kind of vet depth pickup that flies under the radar but occasionally pays off in spades in the playoffs. We get this guy to be able to sit Yip or if we have to move Halischuk or Spaling to get a big piece we want

wasnt Pahlsson a total beast for Anaheim in the playoffs when they won the Cup?

Moen-Pahlsson-Niedmeyer were a great shut down line for the Ducks that playoff run but that was 5 years ago. I havent been impressed with him playing for C-bus when I've seen him.

Fortunately Eklund's success rate with his rumors is 3.1%.

The Oilers blogger on HB says hemsky is about to sign an extension.

The available players list keep shrinking... and the prices for the ones available will continue to rise....

This actually makes me happy. Thank god he isn't coming to us. I have images of footsberg dancing in my head.

Thanks for the insight. I know sk74 loves nashville & the preds organization and I think both would be on cloud 9 to have a legit cup run together.
I also think this move would have the most predictable addition to complement the good chemistry that is already there.
Also don't underestimate the compelling bonus to Poile to be able to resign both at a discount if the combp fit well into the preds fabric.
I still think it is over a 50% chance we get AK by Monday afternoon & I will be happy w/ that addition

Spector says something is going down in Cbus soon. Lots of unreliable rumors of JJ+1st for Carter. I would be shocked to not see Bernier going to Columbus if Carter goes to LA. maybe JJ+Bernier.

I'm guessing they weren't getting offers on Hemsky.

I bet they got someone like Blum offered, they said Ellis, we hung up, they said "screw it we'll keep him."

Probably.

Hopefully we can get AK by the end of the week/monday. At this point I will just take that and run with it even though I am still holding onto hope that we nab carter or Statsny
