Nj - van

To NJ

Schneider, Cory
Raymond, Mason
Ballard, Keith
1st Rounder condition (if they win the Stanley Cup if not then 2nd)

To VAN

Zach Parise
Andy Greene

Why NJ does this?
Simple they would finally have a future replacement for martin, they get a solid 25-30 goal scorer if they give him the right players.

Why VAN does this?
They get another superstar where get turn them into the cup favorites

some say that zach should play in the 2nd line but I think he should play with the sedins, that would be the BEST LINE IN THE NHL PERIOD.

Is there a little smiley face where the guy is shooting himself? That would be PERFECT for this.

Not going to happen!

i actually think this is a really good trade for both teams. However, lets say Canucks resign parise long-term. Does this put them over the cap?

And if they dont resign parise i think its a big overpayment.

**** no.

Devils can't really trade Greene, won't trade Parise, and sure as hell aren't going to do it for that package.

How many of these have we had now? For your sanity and ours, please give it up, Canucks fans.

The Devils are not going to take random futures and salary dumps for their captain and best player when they're trying to make the playoffs. Adding Greene to the deal only makes it worse.

Hey, let's trade one of the Devils' best defensemen and their captain/All-American awesome super hero for:

-An admittedly good to great goalie
-A winger you're trying to pawn off to anyone
-A defenseman you all can't wait to get rid of
-A CONDITIONAL first?

While the Devils are in the playoff hunt.

Yep sounds like a solid idea dude good call can't believe you were the first to come up with it.

Kinda like a couple years ago when some team picked up Ilya Kovalchuk from Atlanta who was sorta in the playoff hunt. I wonder what that team was, and what crap that team gave up? Hmmm...

Not the same situation. Ridiculous that you'd try to compare them.

The Devils are in no danger of moving. Parise has not rejected a $100 M contract offer from the Devils. The Devils are more solidly in the playoff race than the Thrashers were that year. Lou Lamoriello is not Don Waddell.

OP is actually a Habs fan. Almost every single one of his posts are trade proposals. They're universally terrible.

And yeah, the Parise to Canucks threads stopped being anything other than tedious and annoying quite a while ago.

The Devils have an insolvent owner. I'd say that's a very serious situation. It would suck to see them lose Parise if that's the reason he ends up leaving though.

Yes, it is a serious situation, but that doesn't mean the Devils will move him for a crap package at the deadline, like you are suggesting. They will hold onto him for the playoff run, try to get the ownership situation in order, attempt to re-sign him, and then move on from there.

In all reality it IS fair value if you isolate Parise, whether NJ trades Parise or not is another story.

A top 4 dman, a 2nd/3rd line forward, a blue chip NHL ready prospect, and a 1st. Rentals won't return more unfortunately, but like other NJ fans have said, doubt they move him. I personally think they should, I don't know if NJ fans know how good Schneider is..

The list of tweets and articles that I could post about How Zach wants to stay in New Jersey and that its Lou who has yet to approach him about contract talks is so long, but you've already read most of them, but will continue with this broken record "Have fun losing him for nothing" crap.

If the Devils were still near the bottom of the Eastern standings I think that Devils fans would be very supportive of this deal, but that isn't the case.

If the 1st is conditional of Parise resigning with the Canucks, it's a great deal for both teams IMO.

In all honesty, we don't care how good Schneider is, for two reasons:

1. Both Devils goalies have NTCs, and management is clearly content to ride to the playoffs with the two they currently have. The team's future in goal will be addressed during the summer when one or both of them retire/walk, not at the deadline.

2. Cheap but capable goaltending is the easiest commodity to find in the league today. There are more NHL calibre goalies out there than NHL goalie roster spots. Lou (or any intelligent GM) will not pay a premium for a young goalie when he can probably trade for one at a cheaper price, or pick up a veteran stop gap on the cheap in UFA.

So unless Gillis lowers his asking price this summer, the Devils probably will not make a move to acquire Schneider.

I doubt Lou trade Parise in a playoff run. I think they'll lose him for nothing instead of shipping him away @ the deadline (if he doesnt re-sign with the NJD before 12/07/01)

I feel like I have explained this multiple times in numerous threads, but here goes:

1) Parise is not getting traded. The Devils are in the thick of the playoff chase in the East and they will not trade their best player and captain.

2) literally no one wants Keith Ballard and very few teams want to give up assets to get Mason Raymond. also, Cory Schneider looks like the real deal, but I would not give up significant assets to acquire a goalie in today's NHL.

3) The Kovalchuk and Parise situations are COMPLETELY different. It really bothers me that people continue to compare the two when in reality the only thing that they have in common is that they were both going to be UFA wingers come July 1. that is it.

also, the Devils adding in Greene is just plain idiocy. he just re-signed this offseason and has a fairly cap friendly deal and is in our top 4. makes no sense.
