Phoenix XLIII: How to Bake Cupcakes in Less Than Two Weeks
can't see Hamilton. how bad would that be to choose to move the Yotes to the City thats tied to the reason of why the NHL had to buy the team..
edit: that sentence makes perfect sense in my head.. not so much when i read it though lol
Yeah maybe Hamilton should try for the Bills. I see in today's paper, Toronto told them to take a hike. They won't even be playing their last scheduled exhibition game here. The mini poll says it all about the two sporting cultures (American and Canadian) Question: Will you miss the bills? 46 responded yes, 913 said No

It appears to mirror Hockey and some U S markets.
whaaaaa?? gotta link? i wanna read!
maybe thats why i havent seen Melrose Munch on here, he's too busy sobing over no NFL.
if Hamilton didnt already have a football team (no CFL jokes please lol) it would be a perfect location for the Bills, if they were to move north that is.

"And everybody in the Rogers’ boardroom said, “Hallelujah!”
Fans who bought tickets will be reimbursed — not that there are a lot of those. And having paid up to $275 a pop to spend the last four years sitting next to folks on freebies, many of those are likely saying “hallelujah,” too.
Only about 15,000 ticket packages (five regular season and three preseason games) were sold."

Could you imagine the fans in Phoenix saying that about the Cardinals. The cultures are different there is no doubt.
I don't blame you, somehow my 250 mill turned into 550.
If a team goes to Hamilton I bet it will be for less than what Balsillie wanted to pay.
Toronto would want 250 million, Buffalo would want 50 million, a new arena in about 10 years so they may as well build it now for another 400 million then the NHL will want 170 million so close to a billion.

So if Jamieson is approved by the NHL/BOG, gets to the lease agreement stage, and demands concessions from the City of Glendale to subsidize the losses, is there a chance we could see the GWI intervene once again?
It just seems like a lot of money to be thrown into a team that probably won't draw any different under a new owner. I would imagine that any type of municipal subsidization would have a drastic effect on the landscape of the purchase.
As CF has noted above, the point is that it has been lack of agreement on a lease that has prevented previous transactions from closing, and until details of lease negotiations become public it will be difficult to know where this deal might go.
Oh, that's what's missing, a letter of intent. It's quite possible that that's what the announcement is all about, Jamison putting it out there to try to get exclusive negotiation rights, hopefully draw in the capital that he's missing right now and to the shoo away the vultures that are currently pecking at the carcass...

Granted the cultures are different, but that doesn't really pertain to this situation. The Cardinals attendance was dismal when folks didn't sit in 100 degree temps watching a bad team, big difference being overall television revenue for the NFL.

The carcass is so big that the vultures are still at peace with each other.

There is no way the leafs & Sabres would get that much money it would be more like 50 million for the leafs & 30 million for the Sabres & nothing more . The Sabres should consider them selves lucky to be getting anything because the Sabres so called teritory in southern Ontario ends in Niagara not Hamilton & if you want to get technical the Sabres do not televise or advertise in Hamilton .
