Agreed. Yeah I mean wtf with Gomez on the 2nd line (and as a winger??!?!). Sure they wanna show him to trade him (good luck) but he can be 'shown' on the 4th line! Also, will anybody be interested in a centre you play on the wing? They are not even showing him at his 'better' position, how the **** do you want any team to give a **** about him?! This whole team is a joke.

Doing this confirms Gauthier/Cunneyworth have no hope for playoffs and are as much tanking as people on this board.

I like him but don't think he is a certainty in the long term plans. There are younger prospects emerging who could push him for a spot. Add-in our current plight in the standings as a possible factor in us looking to add another froward with top six potential this year...maybe. Then, he is probably less comfortable now than say a year, or two, ago. But that's healthy competition.

That happened to Hemsky and pushed him out. Not a bad position for the Oikers to have a player like that to move.

Love the gangsta but this tank juice has got me thinking coo-coo.

Trade Pleka + prospect for Ryan.

We bottom out with Pleka's loss. Get Grigorenko.

So you have:

Patches-DD-Cole
Ryan-Eller-AK
Bourque-Grigorenko-Gio

The Rocket and Lafleur had the Fire.
This.

People who have played competitive sports in their life will realize that to be successful each player needs to play with a certain fire. Players who take it upon themselves, without loss of team play, to win the game on their shift. Or take it up responsibility to rise up beyond the idea of depending on other's and take the game on your shoulders is really separates good players from the stars.

Rocket and Lafleur were examples of the past.

Now we have Martin St. Louis, Ovechkin, Crosby, Thomas, Toews, malkin

very good centre, not elite, but strong enough both offensively/defensively to play a first line role effectively given the right "supporting" players (i.e dynamic offensive scorer

very good contract for the qualities he brings to the team

if we trade him for anything short of a massive overpayment, we will regret it for a while.

Most important forward on the team.
Lower tier #1C much like Weiss or Grabovski or Pavelski
Ideally he would be teams #2 shutdown/2 way center.

That's the problem with guys with great work ethic who are not that talented. They go through long slumps because they don't have enough skill to fall back on. It doesn't help that he plays on the perimeter and can't cycle the puck for ****, unlike Eller and Desharnais can.

I've always found his vision was inadequate for a center and that he'd be better suited as a winger. People are blinded by his 'hard work' but most of his even-strength pts come from the counter-attack, he can't slow it down and find the open man, he never lets the play develop. Going a 100 miles an hour is good on defense but not the other way around especially when your head is down half the time you have the puck.

You have to respect the fact he exceeded expectations, but he thinks the game like a 3rd liner...

Time to trade Plekanec

Now that the season is over for the Habs, its time to rebuild. Its clear to me that Plekanec must go, before his value is down to zero. This guy is regressing big time. He as always been a failure when the games count and during the playoff. He is small and play like a small player compared to other small player who play big like DD and Gionta.

You guys agree?

DD plays big? Really? I'm sure it's much easier to do that when you have two behemoths as your wingers.

He's Quebecois. In Patof's mind, any Quebecois player far exceeds any other player in the league.

So Patof, please enlighten us: which Quebecois player would you target to replace Pleks? Or who would you trade Pleks for? You can't just get rid of a player without at least offering a proposal or replacement....

Man, these kids today... too much PS3 I tell ya!

Odds are good we get an elite winger. I would be shocked if Grigorenko got past Columbus so I think we have a shot at one of Yakupov or Forsberg. Finally a 1st line winger to put with Plekanec. UNttil we have someone to replace him we should not trade Pleks.

Forsberg is the kind of smart, well rounded player that would compliment Plekanec perfectly. Yakupov would make him a PPG player.

If we can finish low enought i would have the center line be something like this:

1 Grigorenko or Faksa
2 DD
3 Eller
4 Rugged 4rth line center via draft or free agency

3 centres with an average of 1-2 years NHL experience between them. You'd think we learned something from our defense this year.

Great way to get Mackinnon though.

A poor man's Malkin and a poor man's Crosby, we could be the ghetto version of the Penguins!

That's the plan, we aint going to win the cup for the next 5 years, better be building for a team to win then just trying to make the playoff and get out in the first round.

Ok, Rejean Houle, we've heard enough from you tonight, have a nice sleep.

RC needs to watch some games from last season... Gomez needs to sit (although, it's great for the tanking)

Keep Plex (or package for an ultimate forward). But unless we get a top ten center for Plex +__ and __, then keep him he has a great balance a rare talent and has heart. Now, really can't judge him with all the circus music playing.
