There is no age limit. But you do lose a year of eligibility for each season you play elsewhere after 21. So an old guy who has been hurt is a possibility.

His two(2) years of pro happened before he was 21, so he would have 5 years of eligibility. At 27, he wouldn't be setting any 'old guy' CIS records. However I don't know if he wants to go to school (maybe Ryerson and play out of MLG)'...Brett now works in Toronto for hedge fund Radiant Capital

There is no age limit (the word 'age' doesn't even appear in the CIS Eligibility package), but there was for football at one time - the new football eligibility rule is 5 years on a 7 or 8 year clock that starts once you leave high school (clock depends on where you went to high school).

Article on Acadia's offseason...http://www.kingscountynews.ca/Sports...ockey-Axemen/1

They are losing Graham Bona, Nicolas Chouinard, Ryan Graham, Adam MacIlwraith, and Paul Kurceba...and are adding the 5 players already mentioned. It is also noted that Jonathan Laberge is coming back for his 5th year.

They are net positive given the guys they are losing were low on the Points list and the guys coming in are stronger players. Acadia is definitely stronger this year.

I wonder what Archer thinks about leaving McGill in October now (to join Acadia)?

UPEI Coaching Staff Additions

Kind of Recruiting news.

UPEI will have three new Assistant Coaches behind the bench this season:
Kenny MacDougall, former head coach of the Cornwall Superior Thunder major midget team.
Former player Josh Patterson (four seasons)
and
Former player Devan Praught (four seasons with STU followed by one season with UPEI)

By the Looks at the Recruiting (or lack of for Saskatchewan, Calgary and Alberta) looks like Manitoba is the Team to beat for the Canada West Title this season

Is Jimmy Bubnick still playing for Sask. this season? He was announced way back...maybe even before last season ended...I don't recall seeing anything about him going pro.

The San Francisco Bulls (ECHL) have signed another AUS player...agreeing to a contract with Matt Carter (UPEI).

I find the lack of announcements from half of the league to be a bit odd. Of course, much depends on who is coming back.

Maybe it is just me but it doesn't seem like many of the AUS teams have improved over last season....at least based on what we know so far. Maybe teams are a bit more weary announcing any big name players until they know for sure they will show up.

- UPEI lost a ton of their top guys who are going to be almost impossible to replace in one offseason
- STU and Moncton have to replace Lavigne and Ouellet, respectively, and many of the guys they have announced are non-CHL guys
- Dal has been fairly quiet with only a handful of MJAHL guys announced
- SMU has lost Fergus and Pridham and I think Wharton, they have also recruited more non-CHL guys than I can ever remember
- St. FX has lost Swan and Chase Schaber from their recruiting class (although the rest of their class looks pretty solid)
- UNB, even after adding Braes/Robertson/Critchlow (officially), still has yet to replace 2 of their top-3 defenceman from last year.

So far it appears Acadia has improved the most over last season with a solid recruiting class and almost all of their top players returning.

Trois-Rivières adds many

From QMJHL

-Guillaume Rousseau
-Anthony Goulet
-Olivier Dallaire
-Antoine Quevillon
-Christophe Losier

From AAA
-Alexandre Lachance
-Jason Rajotte

From collegiate

-Alex Poirier

In total, there will be 33 guys at their camp. Also, goalkeeper Marc-Antoine Gélinas, who played in the CHL in 2010-2011, will be with the team this year. He was registered at UQTR last year but couldn't play because of eligibility issues.

Nice pick-ups for UdeM. Pouliot is a big guy with good numbers.
