The last few years it seems almost all of the overages from the OHL have gone out to the AUS. It does seem that up until this point of this year, there has been a greater proportion choosing to play in the OUA.
Correct - he turned 21 in March 2008 making his 2007/08 season the last year he could play pro without penalty. He then played two complete seasons and the first few games in season three resulting in a loss of those years (then sat out one year - which is mandatory, but does not count towards the five). Last season for UNB was 'year 4' and he has one left.
Note: His last pro season was in 2010/11 season and he played for UNB in 2011/12 because the one-year rule is 365 days from your last pro game (not an entire season). He only played 5 games in September 2010 (in the 2010/11) season which is why he could play for UNB last season.
York adds forward Corey Scott from Calgary (AJHL) who formerly played with the Moose Jaw Warriors (WHL). York has now added 5 recruits, all of whom have CHL experience, and one of them who has 2 AHL seasons under his belt.

G Mark Segal who played 11 games last season has left the McGill Redmen and retired from competitive hockey.
I was thinking that he was penciled in as the starter, but Hubert Morin is back. But expect a veteran CIS goalie to join McGill, just waiting for McGill to announce it.

I am happy to see so many Canadian players sticking around to play CIS. I sure would like to see more marketing and promotion from the powers that be... of our players playing CIS Hockey. I know its a very debatable subject, but I am not totally convinced that NCAA Div 1 hockey is better hockey than CIS? Sure it varys from team to team I guess.
Why is it that all these NHL,AHL,ECHL etc...are recruiting so much from NCAA. Why is the CIS not part of that equation? If Hockey Canada or whoever promoted and marketed our Canadain University players like the NCAA does, would that make a difference on how the league is perceived and the players moving on to the next level?
NCAA, recruits from US High schools and Junior A clubs.
CIS for the most part recruits from OHL, WHL, QMJHL and Junior A.

Am I wrong in my thinking? Or just hopeful?
Hopefully you have planted a seed and the CIS or an inspiring sports journalist will take up the challenge. As typical Canadians we don't want to beat our chests too much for fear of being labeled braggards while our neighbors to the south are completely involved with shameless self-promotion and razzle dazzle marketing. There should be a CIS game of the week on TSN or Sportsnet, even if those games just focus on our top teams at least it will create the awareness that this league is just as good as NCAA but without all the hype.

Reason: spelling
It's all about perception within the hockey hierarchy...NCAA kids are seen as players on the way up, who elected to go to school rather than play junior. They're younger.
CIS players are perceived as those who played junior, were well scouted as they did so, and were found, for whatever reason, not to be good enough to play professionally. They come in at 20 or 21 and leave at 25 or 26.

...and there are those who went pro out of CHL and are in the Cost or AHL but are down the depth chart (on the outside looking in) who decide that the school package is the better option rather than keep banging away - plenty of time to try again at the other end of CIS if they want (eg. Josh Kidd, Ben Wright and Chad Denny of UNB - Kirkpatrick of SFX).
Jean Sebastien Fournier (dman Drummondville), Andrew Creppin (forward Alabama Huntsville) and Nicolas Larocque-Marcoux (forward Val d'Or have committed to play at u Ottawa this year.
