UPEI snags home-town boy Cole MacMillan, former NHLer Bobby's son. Cole has been around a few years now, He played soccer for UPEI at least two years ago, and still got QMJHL time after that. For the most part his impact has been in Junior A. Two sport athletes, a tough row to hoe in university. PEI has a strong soccer program too. Typically it is at least November before they are done.

Kind of a recruiting news - I have heard (unofficially) that UNB's Dion Campbell has been accepted into UNB's Education program. This will be his 5th year.

He comes off his best VReds season with 17pts (8G+9A) in 28 games (8th on the team) and 5pts (3G+2A) in 6 playoff games (6th on the team).

A speedy forward, slotted on the 3rd or 2nd line most nights depending on personnel. This is great news as he has always been dependable - has only missed 7 games in the past three years.

VReds Player Stats - Dion Campbell

Bisons recruiting list keeps growing

Bisons formally announce the commitments of Corbin Baldwin and Jesse Paradis.

http://gobisons.ca/index.php?page=news&id=2360

These are two very good players and add to an already very impressive recruiting class. Coach Mike Sirant must be close to wrapping things up. Recruits to date include:

James Henry F
Paul Ciarelli F
Aaron Lewadniuk F
Jesse Paradis F
Dylan Kelly F
Craig Scott F
Nathan Green F

Corbin Baldwin D
Brock Sutherland D

Deven Dubyk G

The Bisons have added some skill, some character, some leadership, some size and some role players. This is a very deep recruiting class.

that's a benefit of living in a big province with only one CIS men's hockey team.

Extremely solid (and long) list of recruits for the Bisons. They should be very, very good this year.

Cazzola seems like a big pick-up for Acadia...198 points in 158 games over his last 3 years in the OHL

According to the following news article Brett Thompson from Sarnia well also be attending Acadia.

I am excited to reunite with my old teammate (fellow former OHLer Brett Thompson, who is headed to Acadia too), and continue my hockey career for another four years.

University of Waterloo adds some serious recruits:

Josh McFadden if he does not land a contract with Florida will be joining University of Waterloo. He is a defenceman who has had a 72 point OHL season.

They also confirmed that the two team race for Colin Behenna, Barrie Colts captain has ended as he will be playing for Waterloo, and not Laurier for 2012-2013 alongside Kain Allicock who transferred from Laurier last year.

http://www.thesudburystar.com/2012/0...h-the-panthers

The above post includes Michael Fine to Ryerson, who are having a very strong recruiting class. Should McFadden play in the OUA, he will be one of just another high end overager to join the OUA this year. CIS recruiting in general seems strong this year (Manitoba comes to mind), but the OUA this year has really gained a steady stream of strong major junior players compared to prior years, even with guys like Cazolla and Thompson going out East.

It's JrAAA, Quebec's version of JrA. Bisson was the Patriotes leading scorer with 74 points in 35 games. He's 6'2, 190.

Not exactly.

The Patriotes play in Cegep league in Quebec. The caliber is slightly lower than Jr A, but the league has some good players. Andre Bouvet-Morrissette, who played a year for the Trois-Rivières club, just signed a contract with the Milwaukee Admirals.

Isn't there at least one CEGEP that has a AAA junior team?

I believe that every province has its own senior league, or in some cases a senior team that challenges for the AAA Allan Cup and prepares for the challenge rounds by playing exhibition games.

http://www.allancup.ca/

Manitoba leagues (not AAA) are:

Manitoba East
Southeast Manitoba
North Central
Tiger Hills
Carillon

Rumor was he was going to Queen's to play from home and with his old St. Mikes linemate Corey Bureau. Good for us I guess!
