I expect that Timkin was told to dump and chase in the NA minors, while in Vityaz he got a great coach for young players in Nazarov (Evgeny Kuznetsov's first KHL coach). Plus don't tell me that borderline NHL players or 4th liners never score pretty goals.
Your joking right? those goals weren't even that nice, or at least not even comparable to Timkins. I've watched about half the caps games this year and besides the one line they have, its dump and chase all night long. Ever since Kozlov Fedorov and Nylander left, its been down hill for OV - Fact.
Dave King (Canadian) - "The skill level on the 3rd and fourth lines over here is higher than in the NHL where the 3rd and 4th liners are typically grinders."
And whats with bashing Nazarov, he not only started Kuznetsov out, but he resurrected Anisin's career and groomed Panarin as well. In the next few years both those guys may emerge as top 5 KHL players? What is so bad about him?
And finally, its exactly that, I can point to you numerous articles of guys complaining of being told to dump and chase when they arrive in NA from Europe. Most recent articles from Larionov, Kitsyn etc... My brother and I both play(ed) junior here as well and its exactly what coaches tell you - Over the line and dump or to the outside in shot other wise your on the bench. - quite simple.
Come on, those goals were pretty. Maybre not as good as Timkin's, but my point was that some NHL grinders have the skills to score a great goal (Hendricks even made multiple SO attempts). The thread is not about the Caps; it's the only NHL team I follow, so obviously I can remember only goals by D.C. players.
And who's bashing Nazarov? I made him a compliment, he deserves it.
