17,040 is your barn's capacity.

You are averaging 16,681 fans this year.

That's way better than I thought it'd be. Good for you guys.

This is another must win game and that goes for both teams. If the Jets win, they'll be a point behind us, so naturally a four-point game. The Jets are 0-8 in the second of back-to-backs. The Panthers scoring first is crucial. Versteeg is back but Sturm I believe is out. Moving on to tomorrow in Tampa, I really hope Theodore is back or Foster may get his first NHL start. Also, we haven't won both games in a back-to-back since January 2nd-3rd last season.

Welp, enjoy the broken streak. Jets simply cannot win the second of a back to back.

This game would just be too perfect a time to break that streak, so naturally it's not going to happen.

I'm pretty sure our capacity is more like 19k.

When the Habs or Rangers play here, we easily get 20k. I think we had a 3 game stretch with a total of 60k fans in the arena..

Thx. We've always said give us something to come out for. Very few cities would survive a decade of disaster. Boston and Chicago didn't and they're orig 6.

The max capacity he's likely referring to is when tarps are on. True capacity is around 19,000 and standing room only is added for major games. I don't really see a point to the tarps, but I guess it's to discourage people from sitting in the crappy seats on a game less likely to see so it doesn't look as bad on tv. I could care less, you should welcome the chance to sell whatever you can.

I like the tarps. It makes the arena more intimate. The heat in their off years do the same. Hockey here should have a 15000 seat arena, just like baseball has 35000.

Correct, and 19250 without the tarps. If the Panthers are in the same position as they are now come March, the stadium is going to be filled most nights. I remember when they were making their run in March a few seasons ago, the arena was packed on a Wednesday night. You will see that happen again this season.

I have no doubt. If you look at the numbers...I bet the city of Miami and surrounding area(s) ranks as one of the top playoff attendance crowds across the board in North American professional sports. Fans come out in droves during playoff time. Look at the run the Heat had with Shaq/Wade for those couple of years, how about the Marlins team with Pudge and the Panthers of 1996 of course.

On the other hand, look at Atlanta when the Braves are in the 1st round of playoffs. It looks like a regular season game.
