Looks pretty "even" between the teams in my opinion. We have had some more scoring chases... but overall play... I think it is pretty solid both ends.

Sobotka is a hard worker and deserves more ice time but top line isn't it. Yes he works hard but has barely any offensive production

All that heart and it does not play out in scoring which is sad. Wish we could put his heart into some others.

To be honest as of late Reaves looks like he could be playing some top 6 minutes lol.

Reaves has been our best forward so far lol. I actually can't believe he doesn't have a goal yet this season. He gets some pretty decent chances. I like his game a lot.

Pretty good play so far from Osh, Backes, Berglund, Stewart. We're getting some chances, just can't capitalize.

Solid period overall. We outplayed LA IMO, and are the fresher team. Good to see we aren't that rusty.

Kopitar is extremely impressive defensively.

Indeed.

He'll be scary when he starts putting more pucks in the net.

Really happy with that first period. I figured we might have some trouble out of the gate getting our speed/timing back and the Kings did own the first five-ish minutes, but once those passes started connecting and the Blues got a good forecheck established I was impressed with how they took over the period. I'm expecting some pushback from L.A. in the second but if we can sustain that level of intensity we'll be in good shape.

That was the easiest period to predict ever. LA never scores in the first, are very solid defensively, the Blues still carry the majority of the play and have the better quality chances but don't convert. LA gets a few dangerous moments when the Blues can't clear the zone in a timely fashion.

Berglund looks to have some legs tonight on both ends of the ice. That's promising.

LOVE the tidbit about Perron spending his vacation 4 hours a night on outdoor rinks in Sherbrooke. That kid is the ultimate hockey rat. Can you imagine the torture that concussion must have been for him? Some guys go to the Bahamas, Perron relaxes playing pickup hockey 4hrs a night on outdoor rinks.

Doughty goes for a Carlo-esque hit and whiffs. Great finish by Langs!

Love that slo-mo of the Perron juggling act. Wonder if he was doing some of that out on the rink at home.
