GDT: Road Runners VS San Antonio (FLA)

Game time is at 7 pm.

Who's going? IF you're not, why not? (unless you live to far away obviously).

Have you been listening to any of the Cool 880 coverage? What's your impressions so far if you have?

Predictions for tonight?

I would love too, but unfortunately, i am Closing at Ceili's. If i wasn't, i would so be there(I always bump into guy at some hockey thing or another). PS - I could do a better job announcing than the clowns they got on 880 so far, they screw up a lotta fact's, which, may get past your average fan, but we here at HF are a lil more than average fans i think.

LMHF#1 and I are going. Any word on who is starting in goal? Hopefully JDD since I have been waiting for a long long time to see him in a real game. I also hope Brodziak is playing. I think that the Runner can squeeze another one out and I have a feeling Peterson will have a strong game.

...

Won't be making an appearence, we are home to Lacombe tonight in Heritage Jr. B Action. Next Runners game on my schedule is looking like Oct. 29 against Houston, hopefully that game will feature Harding vs. Deslauriers in the pipes and a tilt between two former Medicine Hat Tigers' tough guys Thompson vs. Boogard!!!

I hope we win but if I was a betting man I would predict the Runners to follow their early season trend...W3-2 in OT, L1-0, W4-3...L6-2 TONIGHT (Lynch and Peterson with the Runner goals). Consistency will be a problem early in the year with all the new faces and I think the Rampage's skill will dominate tonight's game.

I'll say a 3-1 RR win. Stoll, Bishai and Winchester rifle.

I was hoping I could hop on a 20 hour flight and make it to the drop of the puck. But that ain't gonna happen. Will just have to read about it here. See how much us out out out of towners need the rest of you.

Sorry GuyF I can't make it. But in true Aussie style sink a few beers for me.

That would go over well in the dressing room after... "Man did you ever suck tonight! (hic!) did you have your head up your... huh, oh hi Mr. security guard."

Deslauriers gets the start for the Road Runners....

I don't think the radio guys are doing a bad job at all, considering Rob Brown is a radio rookie and Brian Munz has been covering the Prince Albert Raiders for a few years, and was brought in just as the season was starting. (At least when they give out of town AHL scores, they seem to be pretty much up to the minute. On CHED's Oiler broadcasts they often are 30-40 minutes behind the NHL website for updates.) (Jordy Weidman will be doing the colour on the road games this weekend)

They also said again on the pre-game show that they are working through the technical details to get the Road Runner broadcasts on line, but can't say exactly when this will happen...(I guess that station in San Antonio will be doing the baseball game of the century....)

Bah!

The cybercast is playing the Yanks/Sox game 7. Oh well.

Holy crap, Damon goes yard grand slam style and it's 6-0 Sox in the 2nd inning.

Scott just robbed Salmo on a breakaway , and again when it came back. Salmo sounds like he's playin great.

At least this PP had some life to it, 4 shots on goal I believe. Travis Scott kept 'em in it.

Shots 11-4 Runners.

Yeah, shots are 12-4 Runners now, I believe, and Salmo just had ANOTHER great chance.

End of the 1st, 1-0 Runners. Shots are 16-13 Edmonton, and both goalies sound like they're playing well. Salmelainen and Cullen led with 3 shots each.

Maybe it's the radio feed, but Rexall sounds AWFULLY quiet.

The Road Runners radio broadcast is livlier...the guy on the San Antonio broadcast sounds like he must be a basketball announcer with a background on an easy listening FM station or something...

...has to be a small crowd at Rexall, though...everyone staying home and watching the Johnny Damon Show...

And what a show it is, Captain Caveman's crapped the bed this series, then comes in game 7 and only hits 2 dingers and 6 RBI's. :lol
