Wouldn't mind seeing that. Would be another year where a younger tender took the reins as well if Salak is up for it. Plus, he is much more athletic.

You guys are so misguided. They both suck really bad, the answer is not on the roster, duh! Now go post in all my goalie trade props how the goaltending is not a problem once again. Get your heads out of the sand.

Corey needs to sit on the bench for quite some time. He is the reason the hawks started losing the game, let in at least 3 soft goals and just didn't backup his team so they didn't bother to give a crap if their own goalie didnt. They skate with more confident in front of Ray, and the defense plays better.

Not hearing that trash anymore, they'll play even better in front of the new guy.

Emery has won .733 of his starts.

CC has won .486.

Shouldn't even be a question who should start getting the bulk of the starts.

So what? The both stink at stopping the puck. Either ones ability to be present in the goal crease during a win doesn't do a damn thing for this team. The new guy we need to trade for needs to get the majority of the starts from here on out.

By the time Emery came in, the D had pretty much quit.

Stolen from Second City Hockey

"Maybe it doesn't mean much, but if you take out the two Edmonton games and the Philadelphia loss when the team was basically a Gwar sound check, Emery's save-percentage is .921. So maybe?"

Honestly, I think you're nuts if you expect Crawford to get traded before December.

Bowman will probably treat this as a down year like he did with Stalberg and Scott and just ride Corey into next season and see if he turns into Jimmy Howard.

That said, draft compensation for offer sheeting Cory Schneider at $3.2M -- high enough that I don't think the Canucks would match -- is only a 1st and a 3rd, which we'd probably be using to draft a goalie anyway...

I think they'd match that number. You may need to go a bit higher. If you are going to give up a 1st and 3rd just offer sheet him for $4 and really put him out of reach.

Emery has made 15 starts, Crawford has made 37. So 3 for Emery is equal to 7.4 for Crawford. I'll round down to 7. In fact, not even 7, let's just do 6 starts and his brief relief appearance of Ray in Edmonton since last night was a relief appearance for Ray.

Let's see what I come up with:

Save percentage is currently .900

Take out 11/6 Vancouver (team was a Gwar sound check), 11/18 Calgary, 11/19 Edmonton , 11/25 Anaheim, 11/29 Phoenix 1/21 Nashville and last night Edmonton.

Also, notice that most of these games come in a short period of time. Does it mean anything? Nope.

Save percentage then becomes:

.917

Emery didn't start those Edmonton games I believe. He came in during a blowout

The 9-2 game was Emery. Crawford came in during the blowout and gave 2, Ray played about 50 minutes and gave up 7.

And has lousy numbers in Rockford.

What is a "Gwar sound check"?

Gwar is a death metal band. You know, where they just grunt and yell. Presumably the sound check for them would sound even worse.

He's better than what we got right now.

That being said, we should push for Harding.

Neither goalie has been consistent. Or good. So in that case, I'm not sure why Crawford gets the vast majority of the starts.

Crawford is being exposed by the league. BUT, the Hawks d-men and team defense do nothing to help him, really. For some reason they have played a lot better in Emery's starts. Not sure why that is, but if that's the case you gotta put Ray in more often while still allowing Crawford to try to find it. Q's problem is that he plays one of them in 10 straight games without sprinkling in the back-up once in a while.

Oh god, that Philly game was the worst. Emery was making big save after big save, Flyers scoring in 3rd and 4th chances, Emery just had no help at all.

As a fan, I'm beyond embarrassed and disgusted with this organization for leaving the goaltending position unaddressed all year. They must think we're stupid.

I know Emery is slow post to post, but at least he doesn't play goalie like he's on a slip n slide and end up 4 feet out of the goal every time a player circles around the net.

I'm all for a new goaltender... outside of the roster. Most won't agree though, and think Miller is just as bad as Crawford.. Naivety at it's finest.

Oh please...

It was addressed the second they signed Corey to the extension. If he was playing anywhere near the level he did last year, no one would *****.

Don't blame management, blame the guy ego is playing like ****.
