Andrei Kostitsyn and Hal Gill to Pittsburgh

What would Pittsburgh give for these two guys. I think Pittsburgh would be able to offer value. Just looking at Pittsburgh lineup the last two nights. Besides their top line and with Crosby out and no timeline and Staal out. Pittsburgh doesn't have much of a scoring threat.

I think even if Crosby and Staal came back they could use a scoring winger for the top 6 as well for the playoffs and not have to rely a lot on the top line and top pairing defense. I like how Pittsburgh has all heart just think they eventually need the depth for the playoffs. Cap wise it works.

So what would Pittsburgh give for these two as a package at deadline. Tangradi is a player I've had my eye on for a player the Habs can use.

What would they offer and would the Penguins want the depth on the backed and top 6.

You had to go and spoil it. Habs Hotel was trying to pull a fast one and you snitched on him. We do have an Andrew Kostitsyn in our system.. He plays in the ECHL for the Dreamville Pixies.

The draft is in Pittsburgh. That 1st is unlikely to move.

Keenan had an agreement in place to deal the Blues' first back for Jason Allison in 1996 and the ownership vetoed the deal because they wanted to have a first as hosts. Plus the first in play back then was much higher than any other first the Pens could come up with, unless the Pens are out of the playoffs.

But as I said, the offer of Tangradi+2nd+3rd I like, I asked Andros what he would want. I never thought the 1st would be moved. A good prospect + two solid picks works for me

I don't.

I'd rather do Tangradi + Lovejoy for Kostitsyn. I want nothing to do with Hal Gill.

Hal Gill would in all likelihood be fighting with Deryk Engelland for the 6th or 7th defense spot. I like the guy, but don't expect the Pens to give up very much for what will amount to a depth defenseman at best. Especially with how well some of our call-ups have performed for us so far.

Wouldn't mind talking about Kostitsyn though.

I'd think Tyler Kennedy might be a roster name the Pens would or would be willing to move.

Love me some Tangradi, but AK47 and the return of the epic tree for Tangradi+2nd+3rd?

I like it. I definitely think we have a shot at signing AK47 AND Neal to boot.

Meh, not really a fan of Tangradi, would rather another pick or someone like Kuehnhackl or Harrington (although I don't know how feasible it is moving Harrington).

I think the original proposal is fair but this one isn't good for the Habs. I'm sure Gill can get more than a 4th. I don't think the Habs would want Kennedy, he's less of a fit to our current team than Kostitsyn is.

After watching the penguins the past few games I am not a fan of the penguins moving Kennedy either. Without the penguins core offense Kennedy brings lots of speed to the team.

I do not mind adding kostistsyn but I would not like to move Kennedy for him.

Let's face it, Montreal is better off keeping AK.

Who's going to offer him 3.5M next year? nobody.

So what do you do? You offer him 3M and 1.5 in bonuses if he scores 60 points for 3-4 consecutive years.

Tangradi is a nice piece. He was a teammate of Subban's as well in Belleville. I think he would be a good fit for the Habs.

Like I said I have had my eye on Tangradi for awhile.

This guy who said he was piss poor, probably doesn't watch the rest of the league, just only when they play the Habs he probably becomes aware of players.

Tangradi plays well with and without the puck to me. He uses his size well and works well down low. Seems to have good work ethic. I dislike it myself when posters come in and go on about how terrible a player is and hasn't watched him, but went on capgeek or hockeydb just to look at stats. Which doesn't show the side of the player without the puck, which is crucial as well.

To be fair if you've seen him play you'd realize he also hasn't shown much so far. Sure he can keep up at the NHL level and throw a nice check once in a blue moon. Other than that I'm not sure what you're getting at. He's also terrible receiving pucks off the boards in the defensive zone (as of now at least). He can't play all that well with the puck because frankly he's almost never a threat to score.

Of course this is all in the here and now. He's still got time to show his stuff and I agree he's not bad when cycling and he can stand in front of the net. Pens fans will tell you he's amazing at it, which I don't get at all, but whatever he can do it. All in all I'd take that first proposal any day of the week. We shouldn't have trouble finding a place for AK next year and signing him.

Pens had Gil a few years ago and let him walk, not sure if they want him again. But I can't remember if Pitts needed to for financial reasons of keeping other players. Gil was apart of the Stanley Cup winning team, wouldn't surprise me if they wanted him back again, but I don't think Pitts will be the team that ends up getting him.
