Dallas was way too sloppy that period. They're lucky not to be down by a goal or two. This sort of effort won't win you any games.

This team won't make it back to the playoffs until Ott is a 3rd liner again by virtue of team depth. He doesn't do anything of significance with the puck.

And this is exactly one of those games you really have got to win. Effort should be at max level in this one. But no, regrettably another sign this team hasn't earned to be in top8.

They must have some high school kid running the board tonight. No feed the last few minutes of the period. Razor's commentary during the commercial about how stupid their in-zone passing is and one of them singing "Saturday Night" were priceless though.

The effort seems totally there. It's just that every decision is made too early, except for Ott's which aren't made at all. They need to calm down, make space, open lanes and break down the defense.

After Burish got back from his injury a few months ago, I expected him to work his way back up the lines; but he hasn't showed enough.

Well I wouldn't call Burish a top 6 player on a good team either. Ideally Burish is a 4th liner and Ott a 3rd. I'm not just talking about where a coach decides to slot guys either, I'm talking about quality of talent pushing good players down.

Yeah they look almost too amped up, like a gaggle of 6th graders with ADHD on Halloween.

How about calling a penalty for them, too?

On a side note, the Kings lost again, scoring only one goal again.
Gotta win this one, boys.

I'm not saying Benn should be double-shifted every game but occasionally they've got to circle some games on the calendar as extra important - this is one of those games. They've got to get Benn out there more often, even if it means killing penalties in a game like this. Your best player needs to be out there more than he is.
