Sad Sad Sad Season...its even worst with living in Toronto and hearing the fans hear planning the Stanley Coup Parade...BIG BIG changes need to happen and happen soon...We should just tank the rest of the year and Sell the undesirables...
Eff that, Miller Time. The Habs were easily within striking distance of the playoffs when Martin was fired. They were coming off their first regulation loss in half a month. They're professionnal athletes, they don't like losing. They knew they could make it at that point, they're not gonna give up on that coach right away.
And I mean, it's not just the record. You look at his personnel usage, you look at the wonked decisions he's made (scratching his #1 D-man on the eve of a winnable game, seriously?) and you can see why it wouldn't work.
I'm not sure why we should be trying to make up explanations for Cunneyworth sucking out loud here. Is the Martin hate so strong there can't be acceptance that the new guys is way worse?
Hell yes! Friends and bro at my place for the Habs game and the Superbowl tomorrow!! Already one friend bringing a cake for Gomez's anniversary! Sporting event of the year 2012 so far!

I am going to get triple teamed tonight by my Leaf buddies. Time to break out the kevlar.

well dont you know, most knowledgable fans said it "anyone but JM and we'll be better automatically"...
Tony Marinaro also mentioned he was taking his kid to this game. Couldn't happen to a better ****er. I hope he likes watching the team get shutout, and his money goes down the sink.
Can't wait to hear his rant on Monday.

the late-game collapses, the bench minors, the yo-yoing of young players, the veterans grumbling... all of the cracks were apparent long before RC took over...
let's not try to pretend that things were looking positive when JM got fired (and he wasn't averse to making his own fair share of head-scratching lineup decisions)
RC's clearly not getting the most out of this group, and some of his decision making has been suspect, but I do think that to a degree, there should be a bit of leeway/understanding for a first time HC (not so much trying to make excuses, but reality is that virtually everyone goes through a bit of a learning curve when promoted to a new position...).
my point is more that it would be a mistake to overstate RC's shortcomings by using the teams record/performance through his first 2 months on the job as a measuring stick without giving due consideration to the context.
coaching is a mix of X's/O's & people management... in the situation he walked into, he was given no leverage in trying to manage his people, and given the mid-season replacement, putting his own x's/o's stamp on the team is a far greater challenge (again, even more so for a 1st time coach).
with a mess of a season as big as this one, there is plenty of blame to go around, but ultimately I think that PG rightfully deserve the bulk of the criticism... however terrible this season ends up being, no one person is more responsible for it than the guy who put the roster together and whose in-season meddling has done nothing but undermine the work of his coaches and players.
