Here's a question for everyone that is supporting Q and his coaching decisions. How many of the top teams right now line juggle even half as much as Q does? There isn't a more shuffled around playoff team in the entire NHL. Our most consistently played together line, Stalberg/Toews/Kane, has played together half as often as Detroit's top line of Franzen/Datsyuk/Bertuzzi.
There's something to be said for consistency and being comfortable with your linemates, and that's something that is apparently lost on Q.

I recall some Ranger fans saying that Torts shuffles his lines a lot. Dunno if he does it as much a Q though.
Q doesn't shuffle his lines too much more than any other coach in the league. In fact, Stalberg-Toews-Kane has seen more ice time together over the last three games than any line in the NHL. His main problem is constantly changing them to get the preferred matchup.
you think he would be a better coach right now then Q?
Um, yeah. I've always admired the hell out of Bowman and read up whenever someone interviews him. He knows the current league better than anyone IMO. His opinions are always so damn bang on, it's crazy.
He's also said he's really happy with his current advisor position, since it means he can spend a bunch of time playing golf with his buddies in Florida.
I really doubt he'd come back.
Though an extra Cup ring for his toes would be pretty funny.

I doubt it too, but I don't think there should be any question that he could come back and be the best coach in the game.

lol well he would just be standing behind the bench, not strapping on the pads and playing. Why wouldn't he be able to do it better than Q? He's one of the greatest minds in hockey.
Unfortunately he won't. He's retired and just watches his bank account grow each month for acting like part of the organization and tossing his son a few tips now and then.
Honestly when you look at the other teams in our division that are currently seeded higher there are two things that set them apart from us. Great coaching and great goaltending. I would take any starting goalie or coach from the Blues, Preds, or Wings over what we have now. If you look at the skaters each team is icing the Blackhawks easily have more talent than the Blues and Preds and are arguably almost even with the Wings. So why can't our team get it done? It seems like the boneheaded system the coaching staff has our guys playing along with the weak goaltending is making our GA skyrocket. There needs to be a change.

To me it seems like the Hawks are trying to send a message to Q, Bowman and the brass. Their mailing it in right now simply cuz their fed up with Q's ass backward coaching and the fact that Bowman in two years had ripped half the team apart, sent away all their buddies (granted some guys had to go) that they won with and even with all this cap space now he's done nothing as far as bringing in adequate replacements. The guys he's brought in are either rookies or washed up vets. I think the core guys just feel like they want Q fired and they want to see some real quality NHL players brought in either the trade deadline or possibly the Summer. Toews, Sharp and Hossa have been the only 3 Hawks who have been consistent all year. They look around the room and see Bickell, Frolik, Brunette, Crawford just suck and it's almost like they think we can't win anything significant with these guys so why bother.
Remember even the 08-09 Hawks they were exciting and you could tell they were on the verge of turning the corner real fast. But that team won't ever happen again, cuz when it did you had Bolland, Burish, Brouwer, Buff and Versteeg all come up through Rockford at the right time together mixed in with Toews, Kane, Keith, Ladd, Khabby and Havlat. You had some young superstars/grit players mixed in with some good quality vets who had won championships before. Right now this team has an angry core who's won before but is pissed off cuz they know that there's no way that type of team will ever exhist again. It's almost like they have to do a semi-rebuild to get back to that. The 07-08 Hawks had veterans like Robert Lang, Ruutu, Williams who could fill in before our Rockford guys were properly ready to contribute. Leddy, Shaw Kruger are relied on way too much right now.

The White Sox signed a lot of terribad contracts and got more stories out of their blowhard of a GM/manager. The Blackhawks took a bunch of 1-year flyers out on some geezers and scrapheap vets and it didn't pay off. Whatsoever.
I'm not against a change. This reminds me of Martz...
You mean because someone wins a ton more than they lose and then they get run out of town? Good grief, with Martz as the OC for the Bears you guys hosted the NFC championship with Jay freaking Cutler as a QB.
Goooood luck doing that again. Even this year Martz & the Bears were what 7-3 before Cutler went down? I'm sure the new OC will do miracles with Hanie at QB though.
The pressure may be on Q to win but that's the way it is with every coach in the league. I say go back to like it was for the Hawks before Q showed up in Chi town.
Can't decide who is worse, bowman or Q. Bowman sat and watched this team win a lot of close games early and saw the weaknesses, then just let them destroy the team. Bowman made this mess, Q couldn't turn 8th place spending into a 1st place team, big surprise. Try improving the team this offseason, Stan. That means sign Suter then you're about 25% there on the drastic, impact moves that will have to be made after the season, if not now. Poor Q.

Mike Martz was a moron and Jay Cutler made it to the NFC Championship in SPITE of Martz and his retarded system.
I'm sure you know much more than 95% of Bears fans though. Cutler was a great QB last year and the one big flaw in his game was that Mike Martz is a complete retard. Once Cutler started telling Martz off and they started actually blocking for him... he went on a 4 game winning streak but then got injured. Then Hanie took over and Martz decided to sabotage the season by calling the most idiotic plays imaginable. Hanie sucked, but Martz was a cancer on this team.
Trust me, there is a reason Mike Martz has failed everywhere besides that insanely stacked Rams team. There is also a reason he chose to "retire" instead of get hired by another team. It is because no one wants him because he is garbage.

Suter will get around the same cap hit as Campbell... so how would our team be any different from 10/11? We wouldn't be able to afford any good bottom 6 players and wouldn't be able to resign any players that broke out.
Now if Suter wants to sign for a cap hit of 5.5 or something... fine. But he likely will get 7mil+ for 8-9 years.

But he did. We were 1st place for a while and doing well up until right before this road trip. Now the players have just given up. The question is why did they suddenly stop working for wins?
