lulls don't last a month? Everyone sure of that?

Pretty sure Boston started the year in a month long lull. THey are currently in another month long lull.

Good teams looking at a 110 point type season don't play at a 110 point pace all year. They tend to have a few really really good streaks and then are good enough the rest of the way to play 0.500 hockey with several poor efforts.

His line combinations all game were absolutely terrible... this is something you test during practice not in a game when your down by a goal. We got lucky twice at the end with Galiardi missing the net and Bieksa saving the goal and scoring.
When you have the Sedins split up at ANY point something is wrong. It worked getting us a point last game and it worked today. Quit *****ing at AV, at least he is trying something...if the Sedins had their heads out of their ***** they wouldn't need AV to split them up.

He did it because the Sedin's are playing like absolute ****. Playing Daniel with Weise over Henrik sends a message.

Blame the Sedins being total non-factors on that, not Vigneault. It worked. We won.

The players are to blame for the fact we were down 2-1...AGAINST COLORADO. Not the coach. The coach made adjustments, the team responded and won the game. I don't see why you're *****ing about Vigneault. Complain about the team, not the coach right now.

The team has responded the past 2 games when line combinations were flipped completely upside down and managed to steal 3/4 points somehow. Clearly he has something figured out that you don't, despite our players acting like a bunch of idiots out there. Can't make a move out of our zone right now to save our lives - doesn't have to do with coaching, has to do with players focus and compete level.

does manny malhotra play third periods anymore? it's bad enough he doesn't get an offensive zone faceoff ever, but he's literally the invisible man at this point

wonder if he'll get the press box once higgins returns because i thought bitz was one of the better forwards tonight (not saying much, but he was trying to make things happen out there)

Each of our orca boys need to buy a beer per night for Bieksa for a week, and two weeks for Luongo.

The declining Luongo's save percentage is now .920, which is right around his career average.

And to be fair, if we lost that series it wouldn't have been entirely his fault. I'd have no problem firing him for it, but all the blame couldn't be put on his shoulders alone.

Makes sense that the Canucks would win in a shootout vs. a team that had gone 10-0 in it.

Yes, solid message sending, because the Sedins are rookies trying to make the cut on the team... what a pathetic joke.

The Sedin's are the best 2 players to ever put on this jersey, and I wouldn't have even minded if it was Daniel and Booth or something, but Dale Weise?! What message is he sending exactly? "Hey Daniel, you aren't playing well with Henrik, so I'm going to put you out there with a fringe 4th line player to make you play better... godspeed"

Chicago has lost 5 in a row and has a losing record over their last 15 or so as well.

At least the Canucks are still picking up points/winning during their lull. People need to relax a bit. There are areas of concern, for sure, but it's not time to push the panic button. Not even close.

Didn't the Canucks also hit 2 or 3 posts in this game?

Kudos for AV breaking up the Sedins and not giving them much ice in OT. We all know how stubborn he is when it comes to cutting their ice time, so it says A LOT when they get split up and demoted like that.

Thank goodness for our amazing goalies, they have kept us within striking distance of 1st in the West during this slump!

And considering that they're playing closer to .750 hockey right now, they could find themselves at the top of the league in a hurry if they could pull their collective head out their *****.

My only complaint about AV's coaching today is that he waited too long to juggle his lines. If not for a fortuitous bounce, we're talking about a loss.

Doesn't matter if it's Dale Weise or my Grandmother who ends up on the ice; the point is juggling the line combos looking for something.

Oh, and Burrows was on the ice for that OT winner against Chicago because AV juggled the lines to reunite Kesler and Burrows, while putting Samuelsson with the Twins - more effective line juggling. My two cents.

The only reason Claude Julien wasn't fired in the spring is because Nathan Horton scored in OT in game 7 against Montreal

So stop with the AV crap

I'd rather not have Bieksa drinking 20 beers a night.

It's probably a good thing for this team to face some sedin adversity in the regular season because it sure as hell happens in the playoffs. They had one awesome series vs. the Sharks, but were pretty meh for the rest of the playoffs. We got to game 7 of the SCF with the sedins playing below average. If they could fight through playoff adversity and play just a bit better then i hope that will be enough of a boost for the Canucks to win it all. Might as well see what the boys are made of right now.

You should get out and play some competitive hockey sometime, you might learn some of the finer details of the game.
