He's just playing hide n seek with a bunch of others right now. Outside of our goalies no one is playing up to their potential. (Hodgson and Higgins get a pass)

Just keep in mind...There was a stretch last year in late January through February where the Canucks went 11-7-3.

We've been 8-2-3 since the beginning of January.

I'm not trying to say we've been playing well (at all), but we went through a stretch like this last year at this time as well. The important thing is we're picking up points through the poor play (which is what good teams do).

So?

Right I forgot the other wins don't count for the canucks. They only count for other teams.

Shall we not commend the Wings on a good run the last month because 6 wins didn't come in regulation? Sorry folks the Wings aren't actually on a 9-1 run...it's really only a 3-1 run or something, as the other games don't count.

Man how can you hate Bieksa? He's the most likable guy on the team IMO.

Sure he has bad games, but he provides us with plays like that.

I don't get it, if Henrik is injured, he would not be playing. It's not like we're fighting for a playoff spot at the moment, why would he/AV risk making the injury worse? Higgins is out with the flu for goodness sakes.

Maybe for the other teams vying for 1st place. The Canucks have gone 16-5-1 (.750) record against non playoff teams so far so that bodes well for their last 30 games.

Should be Luongo, Landeskog, Bieksa.

Juice gets the third star for the last minute heroics alone.

Umm he has an iron man streak to maintain. Some things are more important than having injuries heal.

Huh, no clue why Giggy was put above Luongo. Faced less shots, less quality chances. Is the post now an extension of a goaltender?

Bieksa ****ed up on the second goal so it's okay for him to be off the board. Landeskog was flying out there.

You say that, but people on this board are still whining about top 6 forwards.

We need Higgins to actually get healthy. Don't know what is going on there.

Many less than stellar TV folks (which is most of the one on sportsnet) think top 6 equates to PPG players.

See this is the thing that kills me. I hate AV. I think he should be fired. But I have more faith in a guy who I don't like than all you do, and most of you seem to worship the dude!

When I hear stuff like 'AV has gotten the most out of this team' it pisses me off. That's saying that this is the pinnacle, that last year was the best we could do. I refuse to accept that. Lesser teams with lesser coaches have gone just as far or further than we have.

Of course he can get more out of this lineup. If this is all we can eke out of this personnel, then we have a massive problem.

Good teams also play like a good team most of the time.

Canucks haven't been that good for most of the season.

Booth has been quietly picking up points since his return. 5 points in his last 6.

Henrik with another assist, though I wish he'd get a multi-point night sooner rather than later.

I'd argue that the iron man streak takes a back seat to an injury. The iron man streak is meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

Except the wings have actually been playing well.

Canucks have been stealing points because of their goalies while the rest of the team is playing liek crap.

and no, I don't really consider those 5 shootout wins in january to be all that impressive by Detroit.

You don't find it scary that the Canucks are 2 points out of first place in the league despite looking miles away from their A game?

To me, it's a positive thing that I can look at the team and say "there's so much more there than what we're seeing" and we're sitting right at the top of the league while saying that.

I think we need to bring in one more stay at home D man, and a solid 4th liner. Moen would be perfect for one of those roles.

Winning = good. Losing = not good. This is a game that results matter. If the team can half-ass it and still win then more power to them.

I do find it scary, because they are going to get knocked out early if they don't figure out a way to play like a top team.

Booth is an awesome fit. I love the way he's willing to drive the net with the puck with speed. We totally lacked that before he got here.

Whoever said Higgins needs to get healthy and back to speed is right, though. We're going to need him healthy come the playoffs. Raymond just doesn't cut it and Hodgson is the anchor of the 3rd line, and we're much more dangerous with CoHo making the 3rd line a threat.
