I'd be very surprised if Snow did anything at all tomorrow.

There is absolutely no way they are buyers... There's realistically a better shot of them getting the 2nd overall pick than getting the 8 seed. I doubt there are any moves and if there are I'm guessing it's a minor move such as moving Juice or Eaton.

How about we post what moves we think will be made(if you believe any will) and then 1 move that you see as a long shot.

Eaton for a 3rd or 4th rd pick
Reasoner for a 3rd of 4th rd pick
Re-Sign PA to a 4yr deal

Long shots:
1A- Nabokov and Okposo+ in a package for JVR and Carle
1B- Nabokov and Okposo for Luke Schenn
1C-Michael Grabner, Kyle Okposo+ for Dustin Brown

Moves that will be made:
1) either Eaton for a 4th round pick or Jurcina for a 3rd
2) sign PAP to a 5yr $22 mil deal (done after we're eliminated)
3) sign Nabby to a 2yr $ 6 million deal

Long shot:
1) Streit and his minus 25 rating to Boston for a 1st. Also opens up JT to be captain.

Off-season :
1) Kyle Okposo and a 2nd to Kings for Dustin Brown

My move if I was GM
1) Reasoner for a hockey stick that I would hit Mottau in the head with.

Thank you. I've never forgiven Mottau for the brutal hit on Frans.

God, 1B is awful. I would stop following this franchise! 1C doesn't look good either. Brown is going to give you the same production as Okposo. But, you are going to give up Grabner as well!

Brown will give you slightly better stats that KO but overall is much better. He brings intangible KO doesnt such as true leadership, grit and toughness, etc. And as for Grabner, his speed will be missed and the occassional goal but what else does he bring? I dont understand the lovefest for some of our guys and that they are untradable. No disrespect, I just dont get it.

On what universe does Okposo give you the same production that Brown does?

Brown has averaged 27 goals a year over the past 4 seasons. Okposo's career high is 19. And that doesn't even touch the difference in their forechecking, defensive awareness, and toughness.

I'm not saying that I'd necessarily make ziggy's deal, but Brown is better than Oh-no-so by leaps and bounds.

What I would like to see the NYI do today....

1)Trade KO, Bailey and a 2013 1st to ANA for Bobby Ryan

2)Trade Nabby to CHI for Dylan Olsen

3)Trade PA to NASH for Ryan Ellis & a 2nd

Sadly Garth thinks we can still make the playoffs & won't do anything. We will then lose Nabby & PA for nothing in FA because other teams will overpay for their services.

I just want to trade away Nabokov no matter what. I still think PA can extend, but Nabby won't

There are so many things that need to be done with this current organization but
none of these will be happening today. They pass up on a claim for a viable defender
for what reason? Is what they have far superior? or are they in talks to move a player or 2 for a defender which is highly unlikely. Unfortunately, there have been opportunities to try and improve but for some reason this is not happening and
quite frankly for most of you diehards, this group is still several years away.
Just think about it, why come to the Island, this team has done nothing but work hard at staying close to the floor and in turn close to a top 5 pick every year.
Philly turned from being a last place team to a playoff contender in 1 year.
Holmgrom looks to keep adding good youth when he sees a road block and is not afraid to move in a different direction. None of this bull crap, "Stay the course"
Boats about to run out of gas soon and all that will be pushing this thing is alot of hot air.

Don't forget his ever-present "we looked but didn't see anything that made sense for us... nothing made sense... it just didn't make sense..."

It's like an NHL version of the Chewbacca Defense

Value of Nash to NYI

I believe the leaked package from NYR was Dubinsky, Erixon, Miller, Thomas and a 1st for Nash. Howson turned it down, rightfully or wrongfully (I agree that he should have turned it down), and now we wait for the draft to see if he will be moved.

If Nash was to have included the Islanders on his PRE-TRADEDEADLINE list and there was to be a pitch made to him, what do you think would have gotten it done? This is obviously hypothetical and isn't based in reality, because I don't think he would ever waive to come here. Just curious what the type of package you think the Islanders would have had to put together to land him.

Howson will want NHL players and not prospects, that's why he turned the Rags down. If the Isles wanted Nash you'd be talking Moulson, Hamonic and a 1st or sometihng of the kind. No worth it. Let someone else overpay.

This season 27 yr old Brown's stats look awful similar to 23 yr old KO's.

But wouldn't that 1st (assuming it was this years) hold more weight in the package? The Rangers pick will be closer to the second round, good players can still be had at that pick, but with the Islanders it's definitely within the first 15 and more than likely a top 10 pick. That would have to amount for something.

The isles 1st is a very valuable piece this year (as all years...) and that package could very well have landed them Nash because they are offering real NHL guys and not prospects. Still though, Nash has an NTC and will therefore never play for the Isles.

I'm all for trading this years 1st (assuming it's not #1 or #2) if we can get a good package that includes real, established NHL players of real good quality in return. Soon there will be a logjam of sorts of prospects and at some point Snow must start dealing some away for real quality.
