Tom Pyatt has more goals than Gomez has points.

Sending Gomez to Europe?

Wouldn't sending Scott Gomez to play for an European team and keeping his salary off the books the best solution to our problem. Cristobal Huet is playing in Switzerland and still is receiving 5.6 m$ a year from Chicago. Of course his agent and him might not be comfortable with it but who knows maybe he'd prefer that than going in the AHL. And if he ever gets better he might interest other teams or even going back to with the canadiens .

Then of course Huet is french and it doesn't seem such a long shot for him to go back home. I almost feel sorry for Gomez he isn't the one responsible for getting such a huge contract, in fact he's only proving to the league how stupid long-term and multi-million $ contracts really are.

One thing is for sure, the pressure from the fans/medias will be too big for the new GM to have Gomez on the opening line-up. Plus, it's not his mistake so he does not have to cover it up.

As long as he's trade (Sad to say) on LTIR or in the minors I'm okay with no Gomez but a buyout that means a 3+ million cap hit for 3 to 4 years is not a good decision.

Both Kaberle and Gomez either need to be burried in the minors or played so that they can potentially be traded at the deadline.

If Gomez is not dumped by July 15, Molson loses so many points in my book.

How many goals would Gomez score next to Crosby?

Gomez vetoed a trade to the NY Isles .... So, Hamilton is the only good punishment for him.

Hearsay. Don't believe every tweet, it's much easier to lie than to tell the truth.

He's not been that bad or great either. I would like to see him come in to camp and redeem himself for an other coach. Managed his ice time and go from there. At this point, I see him as a bottom pairing Dman with 40+point potential. One thing is for sure, he must come to camp in great, great shape.

I Am sure that unless he gets miraculously traded, he will be on the Habs over the summer while they wait for the new cba and possible amity buyout.

He has been bad... very bad.

The trouble is that too many observers judge the value of a defenseman on the points he gets. With Markov back, Kaberles's PP time will drop and what little value he might have as a PP specialist evaporates.

Yes, he's been so "very bad" at a 45-point pace with us.

Habs fans are like sheep, the media didn't like the trade so they have to hate Kaberle.

I'm sure once the big name d-men are off the board taht we can move him in July if we need the cap room. He's hardly making Gomez money or looks like he belongs in the AHL like Gomez.

The media didn't like the trade because it was a stupid trade. And the media did nothing but reinforce what we already knew. Short term panic move designed for 8th place that saddles us with a dumb contract. It made sense from the standpoint of trying to scrape into 8th and that's it. No vision, reactionary move, dumb contract, over the hill soft one dimensional player - there's a lot to hate about that trade.

The Kaberle trade was kind of stupid, but nowhere near the Gomez one. Kaberle's more useful, and his contrat is not as crippling.

I really hope he shows up in great shape next year, though, like someone said.

I can't wait to see how Gomez does this year, maybe he'll break 10 pts.

I think the contract has him crippled - he doesn't give a **** about the game, it's all about the life he wants now - he has won his cup(s) and now it's all about the dolla dolla bills y'all.

I'd hate to have that contract on my Flyers - but then I look at my team and I HATE the Bryz contract....

I simply do not understand the decline, it wasn't gradual - it was like a cliff.

It wasn't a very good trade especially in the context (I'm not sure Gauthier knew he'd tank the team soon after, but considering how soon after Martin was sacked the whole thing was very irresponsible) but unlike Gomez, Kaberle clearly belongs in the NHL.

I still wouldn't mind keeping him until we know what we got with Markov (and if Diaz improves offensively), there's no better D on the market right now and the cap space would just be used to bring in more grinders with character anyway.
