Awesome, Go Pack!!

I'm too lazy to check, is that Valiquette starting? Edit: Yep, any special reason Labarbera isn't in?

They played last night and have another game tomorrow so probably figured the night off would do him some good for tomorrow.

Balej scores on the power play!

1-0 Pack!

Nice shot by Kondratiev to set that up as well.

balej could of easily got 4 points in this game, he got unlucky with that break away and later in the 3rd the goalie did the same move to rob hartford of goal (and assist for balej)

This team looks like it has good balance. Grenier had a nice scrap with Godard.

Moore playing with Balej and Wiseman is cool.

I like the checking line of Ortmeyer-Betts-Gernander.

Solid job.

It's tough to say...

what individuals really stand out in Hartford since the team as a whole plays so well together. It's amazing in the defensive zone how quickly one of the Wolf Pack gets to the puck and clears the zone, often starting an offensive break-out. This is what made the Devils so successful. Albany played a good system, and the Devils played a similar system, which made the transformation from Albany to Jersey an easier one, and Jersey benefitted greatly from it. With Charlotte playing like the 'Pack, and hopefully the Rangers playing like the 'Pack too, this could end up being a successful organization under Sather yet.

Back to the 'Pack... I am disappointed at the hitting of the 'Pack, or lack thereof I should say. Perhaps it's early in the season and it's understandable being tired on back-to-backs. But guys like Betts you'd hope to bang more. Still like Maxim. He's pretty steady and plays it smart. I liked the shot he took from the point on the Balej goal.

Balej too looked good, as did his whole line. I wonder if there is a possibility that when the NHL resumes, that if the Balej lines picks up steam and plays well together, they end up on an NHL line toghether. Sounds crazy, and I can't help but think that that was Lundmark's spot to lose, but if they start to click and go on all cylinders, it could be a nice 'kid' line.

That's about all I had to say about the game and all...

on the Hitting, as solid as Tyutin is i'd like to see him dish out a little more punishment...perhaps he is so concerned with not getting caught out of position, Kondratiev, who is very impressive, seems to be the nastier of the two

I thought Dom Moore played well, has the speed and smarts to be a sure Nhler, but the lack of finishing will make it tough to crack the 3rd line

It just seemed like he had a plan every time he touched the puck. I just felt like he was going to make the correct play each time, whether or not it paned out it was still the right play which would not negatively impact his team.

A very smart player that should push for a spot.

for some reason it seems tyutin holds back some in the AHL...he seemed like he played out more and went for it more in his NHL stint. not quite sure...he's very strong and effective along the boards though and that's important in the defensive zone IMO

i'm not overly concerned with him dishing out tons of punishment, a good hit here and there is nice and he did that in the NHL

like what i hear about kondratiev...sounds like they're really grooming him and tyutin as future NHL partners. woudl be an interesting pair...kind of does everything, solid in both ends

I knew they would be together but I didnt give it thought about PP and PK too. There the packs top unit for everything. If they dont turn into a top NHl pair they should at least be one of top second pairs. They play the same game.

Kondratiev also has a wicked shot. Anyone see the puck on his assist? I couldnt follow it.
