I still think we need a reliable veteran centreman. Sami Pahlsson would be a great fit, a pending UFA also.

the point is you need to GM's to make a trade. people throw out names, trade this guy, trade that guy. if it was that easy....

I believe only the following players need to be replaced: Connoly 'the tampon',Crabb, possibly Lombardi.

Also,we have too many good defenseman. You cannot bench good D for months. Something has to give.

they may or may not need to go. that's somewhat debatable. however, 2 of the 3 are every day players right now and it's doubtful Burke is going to give them away for picks when he's sitting in a playoff spot.

they may "need to go" this summer?

I don't mind that at all. But Connoly needs to go. If we don't sign Grabo/Kulemin because of Connoly, there will be no end to my rage.
I think just the thought of it raised my blood pressure

Komisarek I do hope is dealt. His anchor of a contract for level of play is a burden for the team.
Lombardi is looking better on the forecheck and PK. But No Goal Finish.
Either of Those And Especially Komisarek, I would be happy to deal with for picks.

After that I want overpayment on Macarthur, Connolly, Schenn etc.

Connolly would not look so expendable if Bozak had not stepped up huge this year. As it stands now, he is nice center insurance if one of the top two C go down to injury. In the summer, a center will have to go, especially if Grabs is looking at 5 Mil.

Lol If the Leafs lost 5 straight you'd be asking for the entire team to be traded, jumping to a conclusion like this is stupid, just like Sens fans when they thought they were gonna be sitting comfy in the stands, I remember a few weeks ago they said the Leafs can't even catch up to them yet you see them now 1 point behind and have played 3 less games. Anyways my point is that I think Burke is gonna let this team play for maybe 1-2 weeks before making an conclusion to which whether he's gonna be trading anybody or bringing in anybody.

The team is playing well since Jan and even after all star break but we still need some size upfront and I am sure BB is going to address that b4 the deadline

this flavour of the week.

the reality is Burke will either make trades like this:

connolly/lombadri/komisarek/ whoever for a pick/prospect and a possible dump

OR

a big trade involving prospects and picks, but i dont think it will include Schenn or Kadri, listening to the interview with kadri the other day it seem like he will stay but we will stay.

OR

no trades at all....

but i dont see Burke not making at least 1 trade

Based on the last few years I have faith in Burke. First of all, it's not just him, it's a team of scouts and assistants that have made some pretty sweet deals. Add a guy like Dudley to assess talent, and I don't lose sleep thinking about this stuff.

One or both of Lombardi and Komi needs to go.

Kadri replaces Lombardi.

Aulie as the 7th D.

You guys keep forgetting we have Holzer ready for a call up so the need for Komi isn't there at all. We would still have 8 +D with him gone.

Considering how well they have been playing of late, i am really torn.

yes, we need another top 6 forward to compete in the playoffs against some of the better teams. But if we want that guy it might cost us some elements on the present team that could seriously damage the chemistry that has been built over the last two years. Dumping Lombardi, Komi and Connoly wont get you anyone, and replacing them would not be hard. Losing that KGM line, or parts of it, and/or Franson, Gunner or Schenn will hurt in the short term.

I am not sure that our time is now. It might take another two years to take this team to the next level. My feeling is that we tweak things and hope for the best this year.

I think if we can trade Komi we'll be ok.

If columbus would take on Komi + Mac + 1st + colborne for someone like nash i'd be happy

I want us to keep the core of Lupul/Kessel and Grabo/Kulemin for the 1st and 2nd line... I think if you slot nash in with grabo kulemin that would be a sick line.

Leaving time for Kadri to develop further.. and hopefully frattin can come back up soon.

I think players like Lombardi and armstrong while overpaid now would be key in the playoffs.. they're vets on the team and want to win.. come playoff time i think they'd get points that were not seeing in the regular season.

Loving armstrong with crabb and steckle on the 4th line.. overpaid for there but still

I really dont get the "get rid of Lombardi" talk cause the guy has done wonders for our PK, and he is starting to get his form back. The guy is gritty and playing hard causing turnovers. If you want to get rid of players who burden the team its Conelly and Komiserik. They are waaaaaay overpaid and have done absolutely nothing to help the team. Trade TC to CLB or ANA and get the big power centre we need to make the playoffs and succeed. I realize Conelly isnt enuff but add either Komi if we can or a prospect and drafts. Schenn stays he is too valuable. Kadri can go we have lots coming up, and Frattin, Ross and others can fill the void.

i have to give it to connolly.. the fact that he has me convinced he's been out with an injury for the past few weeks is pretty impressive.

Although Lombardi is overpaid, he had a great game last night. That being said I wouldn't want to break up Lupul-Bozak-Kessel, and KGM has looked good.

Its a tough situation, based on the play of both lines as of late. Obviously we still need more size though, especially for the playoffs.

I don't think we absolutely need another top 6'er, I'd much rather Burke deal for some legit gritty, passionate players that forecheck hard

I don't believe there's any big trade coming anyways. Just minor tweaks.

Nash, Carter, Getzlaf are not coming here.
