Let's keep the political discussion out of the post game thread. There's a "Lounge" thread for a reason.

So on a team void of impact talent you'd piece out one of the two we have for multiple solid pieces?

If the Kings are looking to this message board for encouragement, we are in even bigger trouble than originally thought.

Some of the fans are delusional, they believe if they keep their comments always positive then the Kings will play better. They live in Candyland. Being objective will get you tarred and feathered. It was a good loss! "You show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser" Vince Lombardi

You know, it's pretty easy to breakdown the Los Angeles Kings.

Great defense, horrid offense = average hockey team.

The RBC center really needs to do something about where the backup goalies have to sit during games.

Keep in mind he's sitting on the opposite side of the Kings bench - nowhere near the team.

This game was disheartening. Again.

Honestly, I think I've finally come to terms with the fact that the team we were promised to have and cheer for the past few years ago is still very much a work in progress. This is just a poorly built team and it sucks that that's the case after so many years of enduring rebuilds and trying to find the missing pieces.

Fact of the matter is that DL needs to go and there needs to be an overhaul in personnel. He is too stubborn and set in his ways (too old school), and the team deserves better than that. The fans deserve much better.

I hope the Kings make it as an eighth seed and then are kicked out of the first round so we can have some changes happen. It sucks to think like that but realistically that's probably for the best.

No trades this season. Re-sign Quick as soon as possible in the offseason and see what others are willing to pay for a guy like Brown, Kopitar, Bernier and whatnot. We need competitive, driven winners here and the old squad isn't getting it done. It's that simple. The only guys I think that should be untouchable at this point are Quick (for sure), Richards (maybe - at least he's a leader in the post season), Doughty (still young enough to turn it around), Voynov (young and cheap), and Johnson (really has gotten his **** together which is great to see). Everyone else should be available for the right price.

You are not just our of range but also out of your mind. Wow! Talking about fans running an NHL franchise... it would be HILARIOUS! Imagine a movie - a comedy of course - about fan like this guy getting in charge of LA Kings instead of Lombardi.

- I am interested in Voynov and I am offering you...
- No way dude, take a hike. Oh wait... would you take Kopitar instead?

i cant wait until we trade Kopitar then spend the next decade trying to acquire a ppq centre to replace him. I mean how hard can that be Toronto?

Kopitar is not getting traded by the Kings, unless it is for Malkin or Stamkos.

I think you're putting waaaay too much responsibilities on the shoulders of the captain.

As for the Lombardi quote, I'm pretty certain he didn't mean whine like a little girl either (not directed at you).

He's on pace for his lowest point total since 2005 but the whole team isn't producing so I guess that's to be expected. Lowest goal total since 2006 when he scored 17, lowest assist total since 05. Home and road split numbers are about the same. The real stat is how he performs when the Kings win and when the Kings lose. In King wins 25 games played, 10 goals, 10 assists, 20 points and a plus 15. in King losses 28 games played, 3 goals, 4 assists, 7 points and a minus 12. His shooting percentage drops from 15.4% in wins to an anemic 3.7% in losses. I expect more from the captain and when he pulls the Houdini the Kings don't play well. He needs to lead by example more, if it's not scoring goals he needs to lay down some big hits and get more involved physically overall. LEAD!
