Very good team win. Reimer got the shutout but aside from a few saves, he wasn't expected to make many hard saves. The Leafs did a great job of playing as a unit this game, forcing the Senators to the outside on about 75% of their offensive chances. Reimer seemed in the zone and was tracking the puck as well as humanly possible. Not only was he making the 1st save but he was doing a tremendous job of absorbing the shot to ensure there were no rebounds whatsoever.
-Lupul-Bozak-Kessel line was on fire all game
-Phaneuf played like an absolute champ
-Schenn was physical and imposing
-Franson continued his offensive wizardry from the blueline
-Brown had a lot of jump in his step and I actually thought Lombardi played a pretty good and effective game today
On the flip side:
-Liles looked way less impressive today, showing a lot of the rust that comes with missing as many games as he did. Fumbled the puck on the blueline, fanned (and fell down) taking a one timer..etc Kind of weird because he looked so polished against the Penguins on Thursday, but its okay the other 5 defenseman were spectacular
-In the same ilk, Armstrong had a very nice game on Thursday as well, today he was largely unnoticeable imo
-Steckel had a lot of trouble against Spezza on some key draws in our zone, something to do with RH faceoff men giving Steckel fits according to Healey
It's funny how I enjoy sens games in ottawa way more than the ones in Toronto. The leaf fans in that building are louder than the fans in the ACC, awesome. Reimer played great, first line was great offensively. Sens played really dumb in their defensive end.
