Leafs continue to avoid Selfish penalties...
Franson penalty was somewhat harmless... Then add the delay of game and the too many men, and it is pretty clear that the Leafs are a totally new disciplined team than they were earlier in the year... Penalty kill is so bad that not taking penalties is their only option.
Sens took a number of unnecessary penalties, the leafs made them pay, and that was the difference.
These teams are very close, and special teams are enough to decide a game in this way.
Close give me a freaking break. This is what Ottawa is when Anderson doesn't stand on his head against us
Those fans in Ottawa are twice the fans at most games at the ACC, wow. Kind of pathetic if you think about it. I loved them with under 20 left just waving and chanting, trolling the crap outta Sens fans in their own building. Outstanding.
This its pretty pathetic really. Damn $ 27352836372 tickets
Anyway great wins. It always feels good to trump the sens
LeAFS WIN LEAFS WIN!! LEAFS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYONE GO OUT AND GET ****** UP!!! AND CELEBRATE!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO **** YOU OTTAWA!!!!!!!!!!!!
sick that lupul and kessel were barely in top 10 in scoring before tonight(kessel was 11th and lupul was 10), and now there top 5 again, nice!
Not only that, they just needed some momentum to get back on track. The relief and joy that washed over Kessel after he scored was obvious. He has been playing this speedy and dangerous for a while but nothing seemed to be working lately.
Sorry man, but this one isn't on Lombardi. Connolly has looked lazy for a while now, Lombardi has actually played well recently and works hard. I will admit I'm eating crow in regards to him, he's played better recently and is a good PK player. Still not worth what he's getting paid though and easily replaceable, I hope he gets shipped out this summer to a team lacking offense so he can find his game again.
which "gustavsson fanatics" would be pissed off if reimer got the next start? he was fantastic tonight and absolutely deserves the next start. gustavsson has been good for us as well and he should be getting more starts in the future. if we have two guys who can actually play, who really cares who's in net as long as we're winning?
That has been pretty much my arguement every time I run into one. Some people believe (I will not name them) that it is some kind of a slap in the face to Gus that Reimer got to start this game despite his shut out in Pittsburgh the other night. I am a go with the hot hand kind of guy myself and love that both are doing well. If Reimer is the hot hand, I want him playing...if the Monster is playing better go with him.
And jake gardiner is a phenomenal, phenomenal player.
He's going to be something special when he gains confidence with his offensive capabilities. Right now I don't think even he himself knows how good he could be. It's going to be fun watching this guy in the Blue & White for years to come.
They STILL got out shot despite winning 5-0. I suppose it's natural to get excited about a 5-0 win but I wouldn't be planning for no parade.
The Sens had two stinkers in a row. The Leafs were good, sure, but how many times does a team win with a shutout like that but still get out shot and give up so many shots?
I would recommend caution but hey, party it up.
To me, nothing, and I mean nothing, feels better as a Leaf fan than beating the Sens. I hate that the Bruins beat us constantly, hate the Habs, but this BoO is so strong it feels so good to see games like tonight
