very telling comments from Price re. difference in coaching under RC vs JM (and Carbo and Gainey)...
imo it reinforces the reality that JM's approach to coaching is too outdated. With kids today, who were raised by parents strongly influence by the "attachment" parenting style, being an old-school "don't talk to me unless its about X's/O's) simply won't be as effective if getting the most out of your athletes is the goal.
people may not like it, may not agree with it, but it is what it is.
not at all surprising that "old-school" Ken Hitchcock is having a hugely positive impact in his new position (with a team full of young talent) and openly talks about his shift in dealing with the athletes. JM was either too proud, or too blind to adapt, and it cost him.
Can i have an insight on what as been said ?
What did they say ?
I tought it was a good fight by Subban, People critisize because he dosn't fight, then when he fights he's still not doing the right thing..
He got a bigger opponent(Not a fighter but Subban isn't either)
He kind of talked about how he knows about where PK has been because he's been there himself, put up on a pedestal in Montreal. He also touched on how open Cunney is with players (both in terms of coaching and socially) compared to his other NHL coaches (Gainey, Martin and Carbo). He also spoke about working with the young D core and talked about how you have to brush off mistakes and not let them haunt you.
He also completely missed seeing Chara during the All Star Draft, wasn't an intended slight.
He came of as really poised and professional. Seems like he's a good locker room guy and a leader.
