Eberle was my pick going into this draft as well. I was knee deep into a 40 of Captain Morgan when they selected him, and was quite delighted when they announced his name.

Updated stats for the Top 10 players in the NHL this year (over 20 games played) in pts scored per 60 minutes during 5 on 5 (even strength) play:

Sidney Crosby 4.65
Evgeni Malkin 3.59
Jordan Eberle 3.12
Jamie Benn 2.92
Steven Stamkos 2.91
Jason Spezza 2.85
Ray Whitney 2.79
Pascal Dupuis 2.73
Claude Giroux 2.73
Tyler Ennis 2.72

Although Eberle's stat in that category came back to Earth a little... he's still #3 and in some extremely elite company with only Crosby and Malkin above him.

Amazing to think that he's doing this on a 29th place team and only in his 2nd year in the NHL. The sky is the limit for Eberle once the team improves and he continues to develop and improve his skills more as well.

Wait a tic. According to HF forum logic playing on a bad team can routinely inflate a player's stats. Cus we've seen that happen with a lot of our players over the past six years.
