ovechkin is just horrid at this point. beyond bad. incapable in a cycle, not finishing, one of the very worst players in the league in his own zone. and the caps are on the hook for $10M for idontknowhowmany years.

futures bright, man.

Be soft against the Bruins and you're going to lose. Pretty simple.

**** the NHL. How in the world does Hendricks get an extra 2 minutes? League is run by a bunch of stupid *** idiots.

Thomas out-playing Vokoun so far. I thought the Caps have looked good at times during the 1st period.

**** off, watch the game his plays are what actually got the Capitals back into the game.

Also blaming Carlson for that goal is stupid, Alzner had his stick in the air and Carlson tried to nudge the puck to the other side and the puck flipped up to the side of the net and Marchand got a flukey goal on a flukey play.

"Leaning too much on Ovechkin's individual abilities."

Uh.. what? Isn't that what you do with your stars?

I thought the Caps came back strong after that terrible start, personally. Period was more or less even after that with Thomas being the difference.

So much wrong out there. It's no fun at all. GM should have adjusted this roster a long time ago. I've been in his corner but he's had a poor roster and/or bad roster/coach combo going for far too long.

The curse of Sunday matinee games. We may win them, but some how the league will bend us over and give it to us:
- Ovechkin hit on Chicago's Campbell
- Ovechkin hit on Pittsburgh's Michalek
all occurred during a Sunday matinee

The league will screw us whenever they can on Sunday afternoons. It's their version of a "nooner".

I think they mean there wasn't much of any systematic creation of chances overall. They need more from the Knuble line. Knuble is venturing into Sturm territory.

Ok I have been saying for a long time now that the Caps need to play to their strengths, their offensive abilities, and that they don't have the players/defense to sit back and play defense and let the other team take the game to them like Boudreau and now Hunter have them playing.

When Milbury says the same thing I have to seriously question my take on things...

Hunter's brand of hockey is boring...it's hard to watch after having a few years of Boudreau.

All well and good but when you are missing two of the most important parts of your "strengths", the playmakers that usually carry the puck across the opponent's blue line, it's kind of a hindrance to what you would like to do.

I cant believe backstrom is still leading the capitals in points even though Ovechkin has 10 more games than him.

I don't know enough about hockey to comment on what roster moves should be made to better the Caps for a playoff run, but I've played enough organized sports and followed enough sports to see this team had its confidence/swagger stolen from it by Montreal a couple years in the playoffs and it desperately needs it back.
