The way to get organizations away from constantly taking and developing these types of players is for when the player gets fined/suspended, you fine the organization as well. Very simple.
If Sestito is fined $2,500. Fine the team $100,000.
If he is suspended for 5 games for a late and dirty hit, fine the organization $300,000. That will get the attention of the correct people.
Or give them a penalty against the Cap. For every game a player is suspended, you lose $75,000 in cap space for the season. It may not seem like a lot but for teams near the cap that's terrible. They then have to pull a Devils and carry less than a full roster.
Team's will think twice about dressing pure thugs who do nothing other than fight and play dirty.
and Prust didn't even complain. who the hell pulls hair in a fight? It's like Rupp said to Shelley "you play 5 minutes a game. you're irrelevant." burn.
Deserves a fine...I can't see Sestito being suspended for this considering that Zac Rinaldo was only fined for slew-footing Zach Parise, given that that would have been a bad injury if Wayne Simmonds wasn't right behind Parise (Parise hit Simmonds' leg).
I can't believe that the NHL took no action...although not suspending Rinaldo really screwed the pooch there.

Sestito is trying to find a niche for himself to make it as an NHL player. He may have some skills--a decent skater--once in a while he might put one in the net. As a fighter he seems pretty much so-so. He wins some. He loses some. He doesn't always seem to get the best of guys much smaller than him. He wound up a fight with Jordin Tootoo--knocked out cold. Tootoo is even smaller than Prust.
Which is to say it remains to be seen if he's going to have any lasting impact. I don't know if the NHL should have suspended him for grabbing Prust's hair but the least they should do is warn him not to do it again.
The overall character of this Flyer's team? I don't know. They play kind of hard but it's not nothing really to write home about. The Rangers have not had a problem handling it.
I don't think it was a huge deal. It was just a great laugh at a frustrated punk showing his colors. Not surprised in the least it was a Flyer.
That said, Prust is a bit too 'GQ' for the Rangers. He should get a haircut and have a shave.

Finally, they have no problem handling it. Was not the case for a very long time. But, the overall point, was that the song seems to remain the same for the organization overall.
If Sestito got his head on straight, he could be a useful playe ron the forecheck.
He's got decent speed and loves to initiate contact. He could be a weapon in the sense of wearing down opponents defence by pounding them every time they touch the puck.
I remember Sandy McCarthy being a major factor in that regards.

These fines seem ridiculous. But if that's what you want, why only target the fighters? Why not apply the same fines for flagrant high sticks and boarding plays.
It was a fight, Sesito was a jerk for pulling hair, but it ends at that. That game on Sunday was awesome and cant wait to see us play them again!
