SOLI'S SHORTSIDE

- The Oilers have amassed 9 of a possible 10 points in the last 5 games.

- James Reimer has back-to-back shutouts. My John Madden prediction for success: "If the Oilers want to win the game, Reimer cannot get a shutout"

- What can I say about Gagner that hasn't been said already? He tied a Gretzky record on Thursday, he beat a Gretzky record on Saturday. There's no one hotter in the NHL than Sam Gagner

- I imagine we continue to ride Dubnyk and no lineup changes to come. Tom Gilbert injury update perhaps? Lineups will be updated as more info becomes available, but once again, don't expect any changes.

Can you feel the love between 14 and 89?! Great pic. Now is the time for someone to talk about the difference between love and infatuation.

RNH, Hall, Gagner, & Jones all have hattricks. It's Eberle's turn.

6-3 Oil. Reimer shows he is still a scrub

Would much rather have Smyth or Jones playing with Nuge and Hemsky.

I want RNH to get some 2nd-line production going.

I'm watching this game with a die hard leafs fan, and would live nothing more than to have the boys stick it to em. Oilers win 4-2. Nuge with huge one in his first game in the centre of the universe

Leafs have some serious firepower. Dubnyk will have to be sharp to keep this one close.

I'm excited for tonight's game. First time I get to see Hopkins live.

Good luck.

Looking at those lines I think the team would benefit flipping Horcoff and Lander.

Can anyone give me one good reason that Horcoff is on RNH's left wing over Smyth or Lander? Besides Renney's inexplicable love for Horc that is.

Here's one...In case RNH gets waived out of the faceoff circle.

This is why I do not want Renney extended. Terrible coaching.

Horcoff is barely a 3rd liner anymore yet he gets spoonfed minutes to justify his stupid contract. Everyone knows that if it wasn't for his contract, he would probably be on the 3rd line at best. What a waste of RNH's talent.

As did CHI and DET... Seeing as Dubnyk has a 4 gaa over the last couple of games I think we (again) need to score alot to take down the Leafs.

In Gagner we trust!

The thing I don't understand is that putting Horcoff at wing further decreases his utility. He is completely useless at wing.

Toronto has had some great goaltending lately. You're right, Dubnyk will have to step it up. I know that he's faced a lot of shots the last few games, but I personally don't think he's played all that well. He's played good, but not great.

Going to be interesting. I think the game will hinge on how Hall plays.
I'll be a negative Nancy and say that the Toronto defense and goaltending will end up being the difference. 4-1 Toronto

Yeah we've seen Lander's
Defensive responsibility, why not play him with RNH and see his skill level?

At this point in the year, why not experiment?

I don't agree with Horcoff on the wing either. Too many times I watched him just throw the puck up the boards right to Detroit D. Play him on 3rd or 4th line center. At this point I think you would move him there, and then move Lander off to the wing, or send him down to OKC. Or not play Horcoff at all, which would be most ideal in my mind.

and to balance the hatred for Horcoff, I'll continue my dislike for Hemsky.
lol.
I'm going to watch and see how many times Hemsky circles back to the blueline tonight and turns over the puck in the process. I bet more plays die tonight on Hemskys stick than on Horcoffs.

That's not a good one. Smyth can take faceoffs too and as bad as Smyth has been (although, he has played better in the last couple of games), he's a much better option than Horcoff in that spot.
Horcoff sucks at center but he's even worse on the wing and i would rather him be worse on the 3rd line than on the 2nd line playing 20+ minutes a night.
He doesn't even play solid defense anymore so what's the point?
