The 1993 team was the closest by far of winning. From what I remember the 1999 team wasnt even close to beating Hasek and peca. The 2002 team was much too injury depleted and couldnt score against Irbe ( **** you alfie for that hit from behind). Everyone talks about the 1993 team because we had the team to go all the way. The infamous no call in game 6 in LA comes to mind. I still feel chills remembering the hat trick by clark to tie it up.

So the Leafs lost in 2002 because Darcy Tucker was injured?

Anyway, I remember Game 7 against LA. We had some friends over, who were LA fans, and by the end I was crying like a baby.

I remember getting TPR for Christmas and I watched it religiously. So much that I eventually ruined the tape

I don't think anyone from the current roster can compare to the 92-93 one. The closest I can come is *maybe* Schenn is close to Lefebrve

The weird part is that the 93/94 team actually might have been better. And if we're going to start tossing around the roster on paper, I'll go to my grave that the rankings go like this:

1) 1995/1996
2) 2003/2004
3) 1993/1994
4) 1992/1993

The '92/'93 team just had a lot of determination and the third best player in hockey at that time period.

It's interesting for me to think about the comparisons to the team that Burkie has built. Maybe Fletcher still has something to do with that
afterall, he did land Grabovski (Gilmour) to kick things off

what comparisons do you see?

Phaneuf=Clark
Grabo=Gilmour
Kessel=Gartner
Lupul=Andrychuck

If somebody could emb the video from youtube that would be great!
I almost wore my VHS copy of that out back then.

Did you just compare Grabo to Gilmour? I really like Grabo but that's blasphemy.

Also Gartner wasn't on that team.

What difference does it make where you score from? If it was that easy everyone would do it. Andreychuk scored 50 twice in a row while with the Leafs. Lupul 's impact on the linup does remind me of Anderchuk though.

This. Anyone who compares Grabo to Gilmour loses all credibility.

As for the movie, I used to watch it a couple times a month when I was a kid. No one has the heart and soul like Wendel and Dougie.

Ps. Let's not forget JAMIE MACOUN! WARRIOR!

he had a couple of 100 plus point seasons here IIRC. a career high of 127 in 93 and i believe 111 in 94.
