LOL, I know some of you are mad after the loss but Schultz hasn't even played an NHL game yet. No a big deal really!

Gauthier is so Generous! He called up Schultz to give him a bigger Paycheck for one game. Pierre's a Gr8 man! We should keep him. Right?

How can you say that the guy can't crack the lineup when they don't give him a chance to proove himself for a game?

This doesn't even make any sense. If Moen is in fact ready, then why didn't they send Schultz down before the game? I doubt they figured out just now that Moen is ready for Wednesday's game... I mean, it's not as if he was at home during the game doing strenuous activities and called PG up to tell him that he's good to go.

Yeah that's strange... But maybe they send him back to save money, while Schultz stay in MTL for wednesday's game and they "call him back up" wednesday?

because once 5pm hit, he was getting a second day of pay anyway.

Sent down after 5pm on Monday, means you have to pay him for Tuesday.

That's exactly my point. Why not send him down before 5pm if they knew that Moen was good to go? I doubt they found out that Moen is fine just now...

Molson expected higher beer sales tonight and Wednesday so he had a few extra thousands of dollars to blow?

I guess a deal involving Moen didn't go through and he'll be back on Wednesday.

If you call a kid up, get his hopes up to make his NHL debut, and then have to crush him by sending him down without getting to play, its kind of a nice thing to do to give him an extra $4500 (one days pay).

Especially this year when we have a ton of cap space for the deadline and the $4500 means nothing to that.

Its just the classy thing to do.

Makes no sense. If there was a deal or you were waiting on Moen - why not just wait until Wednesday to either call him up or not?

Org has no clue what they are doing. Par for the course.

Exactly my reaction. I can't wait to see his mealy mouthed grin as he's fired in the off season. Incompetent and gutless, the Gauthier Way.

Me too. It's ******* classless to call up a 22 years old kid and getting his hope up thinking that he would play a game or 2 before going back down and finally he doesn't stay a full day in MTL after playing 3 games in 3 nights? WTF is that?

That organisation just has no clue.

He just made almost $10,000 extra dollars he wasn't expecting just a few days ago.

Thats a hell of a bonus for a guy making 60K in the AHL.

I'm pretty sure he would have refused those 10,000$ to play at least a game in MTL.

I know you wanted to see what he can do. Hell, even I figured he's here, why not see what he's got but at the end of the day, maybe he just isn't as close as we thought?

We can sit here and say we should give him a chance, but then, does Desimone, avstin, nattinen and so on get a shot too?

The kid at least knows they consider him. I think despite what we think the salary bonus and the acknowledgement of his good streak are appreciated.

As of Saturday night he probably never expected to play a game for Montreal this season.

Heck who knows what the organization told him yesterday, he might have known from the first callup that Moen was likely to be healthy, and this was just a worst case scenario callup and playing was unlikely.

We really don't know what PG told him when he got the call.

Than, why the hell did they called him up, FFS?

******* hate PG.

Oh Yeah Gauthier probably called him up and told him to come to Montreal, two days before they play their arch rival and toughest team in the league, and said come up and watch a paid game. No big deal.

I dunno... pretty much every day that Markov remains on LTIR must save at least enough to pay 2 call-ups like this a night, right? Don't see the big deal, especially if there's just some minimum roster number that have to be assigned as "available" for any given night, and injuries meant calling up someone to fill the box spots since everyone else healthy had to suit up.

Just letting the kid know we are still thinking about him and he will get a chance. Here is some cash and keep working. We will have need of his face punching services soon.
