What the hell has Prospal done to be considered "a proven winner?"
I don't have anything against Prospal, but I was joked about how teams seemed to do better without him.
He's in Tampa for 2002-03, signs with Anaheim that offseason. Tampa wins the Cup, Anaheim misses the playoffs after making the Cup Finals.
Rejoins Tampa after the lockout and they fail to win a round. Anaheim wins Cup in 2007. Rangers make the playoffs in 2009, sign Prospal, miss the playoffs in 2010.
Way too much for a goalie prospect, even as good as Lindback might be.
The #1 D-man is the obvious player we all want, but I wouldn't mind acquiring some bottom 6 talent. Ideally in a swap for some of our current bottom 6 talent.
I want more proven bottom 6 players like Ponikarovsky and fewer recycled AHL players like Brad Mills. We have an abundance of bottom 6-ers, but none of them are particularly good.
Top 6: Kovy, Parise, Elias, Henrique, Zubrus, Sykora
Bottom 6: Zajac, Ponikarovsky, Josefson, Carter
I really like what Bernier has done since joining the team. Hopefully he keeps it going and sticks around. That being said, we still need one more. Everyone else is pretty much useless.
Hal Gill does nothing for us. He's a PK guy, one area we don't need help.
Yeah, I wouldn't want him unless we give up pennies. We're average in terms of goals allowed and I don't think Gill would improve us much more than that.
A #1 D-man, on the other hand, would easily put us in the top 10 while also contributing offensively. Like Suter.
Nashville is a buyer this year. I see them keeping Suter like we keep Parise. Nashville really has an interesting team. Imagine if they could spend to the cap with the pieces they have in place today. Hell...watch them keep Suter and Weber.
Haven't been on the boards much lately. Visnovsky would be such a great pickup by Lou. I'm a little confused though. TFP says he has a full NMC, yet capgeek doesn't list him as having any NMC. Pretty sure capgeek did have him listed as having a NMC at one time though. Was it an error that they fixed?
