Not sure why some people think this is an instant win with hank in net. Devils always play us tough and they have been playing some of there best hockey of the season. Not to mention Kovalslut is also hot right now. Here's to a good game and may the Rangers win.
Seriously, this game will be harder then Philly IMO.

Not an "instant win", but the Devils are on the last of a 3 in 4, plus they have a bunch of injuries, so that may be factoring in people's thinking.
the goal Parise scored should have been stopped. His positioning was weak on the short side. Had he been in position, that puck hits his shoulder.
The goal to Kovy in the shootout. Could have fit a Mack Truck through that five hole and Biron didn't flinch.
Other than that, he played a very good game.
Unlucky bounce to Clarkson (on pace for 30 goals) and he buries his chance there.
Clarkson is having one hell of a season. He's developed nicely for that team. A nice player. Would like to have him in NY.
I just don't get people complaining about Biron that game. I thought he played great.
I heard almost everyone say it, but I don't think that first goal by Parise was soft. It would have been soft if that bad angled shot was his initial shot and Biron let it in short side. But Parise took a good shot first that Biron had to save and he wasn't able to get fully set for the second shot and it went in short side. That goal is on that defenseman for letting Parise get the first shot off and then get to his own rebound.
Complaining about the Kovalchuk goal seems ridiculous to me too. The guy is 8 of 9 on shoot-out attempts on the season. He's a great goal scorer. He froze Biron and made him look bad. It happens with a player of that caliber shooting. Also Biron stopped Parise on the next shot on a move I've seen him make many all-star goaltenders look silly with. Biron didn't bite.
Of the starters, Larsson (day to day), Zajac (I dont even know what to believe), Tallinder (4 more weeks), and Carter (day to day) are all out. Henrique is back though (played Sunday), which is big.
The Devils could ice an AHL lineup against us and they will play like NHLers like their lives are on the line.

In terms of minutes played this season Tallinder and Larsson are their #1 and #2 Defensemen.

Do I smell pre-excuses? Should be a hard fought game as always and if the bounces all go to one team that team will win; otherwise the Rangers will take this one.
The key is gonna be the Rangers being able to carry the puck into the zone, or dumping it in smartly so Marty can't quickly play it back out.
He's still great at doing that and his team knows how to give him the quick breakout passes. Their D isn't that great but it can look great if all you do is throw it in so Brodeur can send it right back out.
Carry the puck in or time your forecheck well, and the Rangers should get plenty of chances
yes you want to win vs your division but i think if henrik plays jersey and biron plays that buffalo game. we only get 2 of 4 points. i don't see how biron would have won that buffalo game.
Just win tonight, and all is well...
Maybe it's just me, but I would have rather had the 2 pts vs NJ than Buffalo. You know, cause they're in our division and it's likely we could be playing them in the 1st round. But whatever, it's in the past now.

Get the 2 pts tonight please.
I'd take them in any round and feel pretty confident.

I cant smell it. I think you just must have been thinking too hard.

Still wouldve put hank vs the devs, he was pissed he didnt play, believe biron wouldve played a good game vs the sabres
they should put up an over/under on fatso flops.
i miss avery a little more than usual when we play NJ
i love to watch brodeur suck, as ferris bueller would say about the ferrari, "it is so choice"
Who knows. He had a nasty Achilles injury and has missed most of the season, came back for 7 or 8 games and was playing well, then reaggravated it.
It was supposedly a "minor setback", but as per usual Devil behaviour Lou has apparently put him in the witness relocation program, he's on IR and I dont even think he's skating. Huge loss.

Looking back at it, I think Hank gets us two points vs. the Debbies, but I don't think Biron pitches a shutout vs. the Sabres.
