ARENA: Tampa Bay Times Forum, Tampa Bay
TV: NBCSP(HD), TSN2
RADIO: 970 WFLA

GUY BOUCHER:
Quote:
  • "I was going to use the word machine, but I like the word monster, absolutely. He (Hedman) had a monster game, blocking shots, hitting guys, first on puck, separating players from the puck and taking the puck and skating up with it, getting all kinds of scoring opportunities. He's turning into a monster, and I love it."
Quote:
  • "It's crunch time and he's (Marty) Mr. Crunch Time, so he's crunching."
MARTY ST. LOUIS:
Quote:
  • "Streaks happen when everybody is on top of their game and we get contributions from everybody, which is what we are getting right now. I'm just trying to help the team win the next game and I'm sure Vinny is thinking the same thing. I'm not worried that we have to keep clicking and we have to do this and we have to do that and hopefully this happens. We are just trying to play the game. I think me and Vinny just understand each other's game, I know his tendencies and he knows mine.''
VICTOR HEDMAN:
Quote:
  • "When you make some plays and you feel good out there, you want to keep it going and build on that. But as long as the team is winning, you are happy and if you feel you are contributing in certain ways, you gain some confidence, as well. So I feel confident that I am making plays offensively and still feel confident from playing well in the defensive zone.''

LET'S GO BOLTS!

Im worried for Roloson

Another must win game, we just don't seem to gain on teams above us as they all seem to be winning as well!

Evan Oberg has legally changed his name to Thunderbug.

Roloson is confirmed, Bernier is not, but I can't imagine that with Roloson's 7-13-5-3 record against them, and the fact that Garon used to play for LA, that they aren't going with a battle of the backups.

****. It's ok, if Carolina can beat them so can we. I predict a 2-1 game going either way.

Haha, I like how they're emphasizing the flying part. As if he would do anything else. Ever.

Odd timing though. We're already dressing 7 defensemen and MAB is expected to return sometime soon.

Oberg is like Fix-a-Flat. Hope to never have to use it,but keep in the trunk and check occasionally that it is still there. If you do use it you go to get a real fix ASAP

If you have to start Rolie it may as well be against the lowest scoring team in the league

The Lightning are 8th in scoring the most goals/per game (on average) and first in most goals allowed/game (on average).

and the 1-3-1 is destroying hockey.

http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/lightn...er-moves-works

On Oberg:
Quote:
On the surface, it seemed an odd move. The Tampa Bay Lightning with eight healthy defensemen (assuming Marc-Andre Bergeron's bad back is ready to go), called up defenseman Evan Oberg from AHL Norfolk.

That this is Oberg's eighth call-up from the minors and he has played a total of 1 minute, 21 seconds in one game is always a fun fact of which to keep track....But coach Guy Boucher and general manager Steve Yzerman said the move was an insurance policy because Bergeron hasn't played since Jan. 13 and there apparently is another defenseman who is at least nicked up.
Also-
Quote:
Center Nate Thompson appears as if he will play. He apparently had an MRI test on an undisclosed injury that forced him to leave Monday's practice early. ... No official word, but it seems right wing Brett Connolly and defenseman Matt Gilroy will be scratched. Gilroy has played just 9:36 and 8:02 in his past two games. Boucher said that has been more a function of other players doing well and claiming some ice time, particularly Bruno Gervais and Brendan Mikkelson, who have been an effective pairing. ... Boucher said the team is "grooming" Mikkelson for more of a power-play role.

Kings have only scored 69 5 on 5 goals this year compared to our 113 for a difference of 44 goals.

I was not aware a yellow sweater existed. I knew of red, which means 'no contact', does yellow mean 'yield for contact', while green means it's open season?

Kings fan here.

Yes, our team sucks at scoring, but at least defense and goaltending is solid. Expect a low scoring game from both end. If we score more then 2 goals, call it a mirracle .

I like the cliffhanger ending of if Roloson is going to make the 'save'. The drama comes entirely from the edit. Slow motion, etc.

First, the shot has like 0% chance of going in on it's own. It's on a downward trajectory, and Roloson is jumping for the puck, so he doesn't have to make a save. (if a Jet out of frame, scoots in for the opportunity)

Even if Kane had made contact, it wouldn't have counted as a goal, as it'd have been directed with a high stick.

The intro could have used some more Philly though.

Actually, if I can point something out:

I paused it at a moment where it looks like Grover's letting it hang loose, but that's not why I took a screenshot.
