I was watching Sports Center at lunch today and during a segment on the USA Mens Basketball team this popped up on the screen. You may have to go full screen to really see it.

Was that the Blue Jackets preseason schedule that popped up? Just goes to show that what the people really want to know is who the Jackets are playing in late September preseason hockey games, not the Olympics.

Yes it was. I just found it to be such an odd and random thing.

I saw that too! I was like 'of all the things to come up...' It was pretty strange.

Nevermind it was the Phx pick

Sellouts are not what you want --if you want reasonable ticket prices.

And I'm sorry but this is not Canadia. Americans have other sporting events they can spend money on.

So eventually that trade turned out as Lehner for Bob. Would anyone call it a robbery? 3 years of Vermette weren't any beneficial for the team's results.

Getting Vermette was the final push to get in the playoffs and he was magic that year, and the next year when he g ot 67 points. Just because the last 2 years of Vermette were bad don't mean we sweep what he did for us under the rug.

Canada does have that 1 league with like 6 teams and a 55 yard line.

Ditto. It's like a post when someone's being obviously sarcastic, but I don't think there was any intended.

Not sure where you are going with this, it's OT. Just consider my response to biz sarcastic, it's employed a lot around here. There are few other ways I feel comfortable responding to someone suggesting that Vermette's time around here wasn't valuable in some bizarre attempt to protect the failures of another teams GM.

Epic failure is about all I've got. That and pure shock, hence the "dear lord".

It's not my fault he's attempting the Kevin Bacon game.

Was agreeing with you. Had nothing new. Attempted a commentary on the post in question, so as not to simply post "This" or "x2". Meh.

Interesting. That could be the first of heard of this. I tend not to get excited about goalies that were just drafted. I'm curious about Bob. We did add a 29 year old journeyman. Do we get excited about that?

Geez. OK. The Jackets ROBBED Ottawa. Whatever makes you feel better.
All what I was saying is that both teams got something out of that trade and only time will tell who eventually won that trade. Lehner might win Vezina over the next few years.

Cool article on Hunwick. Don't let the fact that it takes the seemingly obligatory jab at the team derail the thread though.

So could Bob, Mason, Dansk, Oullette, Korpisalo, and Andrew Raycroft. Potential means little when talking about awards. As of right now the Jackets won that trade, and its not close until Lehner proves something in the NHL.

HEY GUYS was doing a post for the rangers board and did a comparison of brandon dubinsky to scott hartnell. fig id post the comparison here too since dubi is now a blue jacket. while i think hartnell is a better player ive felt the 2 players played a similar role on the teams adding toughness and scoring but not a whole lot of skill. i have both players career numbers and a table that has hartnells first 6 years which is very close to dubis first 6 years.

Somewhat interesting, thanks for sharing. With that, I'll say that I don't ever expect Brandon Dubinsky to put up the same numbers as Hartnell, simply because they play different styles of hockey in the offensive zone; and Hartnell is more suited for that net-front style ... which always generates higher goal scoring statistics.

Take out Hartnells 6th year since Dubi

only had 6 games in the first year and it skewed towards Dubinsky. How many people would have predicted that?

funny how i could have skewed the numbers heavily in favor of dubinsky if i only counted first 5 full years because the comparison would be far in dubinskys favor due to 75 games and only 2 goals scored. i litterally double checked hartnells stats to see if i had erased a number.
