The article is very poorly written.
The author is attempting to state that J-Bo is currently the longest-tenured player without a playoff appearance, period. Jokinen went the longest without a playoff appearance, but actually eventually made the playoffs, so no longer can be "the player with the most games played without a playoff appearance." Semantics.
