Johnson is a good AHL/NHL tweener. He's not an NHL regular. I like what I see in Savard and Moore, hopefully they keep progressing at this rate.

Methot has really regressed this season. It's a shame he has that contract. Clitsome is Clitsome. I'm happy with Tyutin and Wisniewski (when he plays).

You gotta appreciate Coach Richards giving us a defensive pairing of Clitsome and Johnson!

Disagree with Methot. Sure Johnson and Clitsome are awful but Methot is a pretty good defense first puck mover. I actually really like him with Moore. Lol its kinda hilarious seeing how Moore just skates away from everyone and the guy cant be touched.

Just got back from the game. A few observations:

-Carter was all over the ice tonight. As others have alluded to, is it because there were a bunch of scouts in the arena, or because he wants to show Jacket fans why he was so hyped before the season? Either way, when engaged, he's a very good talent. If Howson insists on trading him, it better include a solid young d-man/goalie as well as a high draft pick.

-There were at least two instances where Umberger could have shot the puck within 10 or 15 feet of the goal, but chose instead to pass. Keep it simple and shoot the puck Umby.

-Moore and Savard are going to be some solid anchors on the blueline in a couple years.

-Dorsett really seems to be taking this goal-scoring thing to heart. He has been showing some halfway decent skill in the offensive zone and really crashing the net. Surprise of the season thus far.

-Prospal seems to have faded lately. Haven't really noticed him much out there lately.

Better or worse than Clitsome and Russell on the PK?

I was expecting Methot to step into the role that Hejda/Klesla left after his play in the WJC. Yes Martinek was supposed to shoulder some of that burden, but Methot had progressed a significant amount last year.

In my opinion, Methot doesn't clear the crease well enough. He is ok at blocking shots, but I would like to see him get better there as well. We have guys who can move the puck in Moore, Savard, Wisniewski, and Tyutin. We need Methot to be Mr. Big Body and play mostly defense.

Right now I think Methot is a #4-5 defenseman. What I was expecting and what we're paying him was to be a #3. Perhaps that's a bit of semantics, but on a good team I just don't see Methot in the top-4.

I think MEthot is still our best positionally sound Dman we have. He clears the crease OK, makes a good first pass, and if you don't notice him, hes probably doing his job.

He just needs someone to pair with.. Hejda would have been perfect.

Ideal wings for Carter are Prospal and Gillies/Vermette. Not Nash. And look whats happen. Carter plays better!!! He is better than Brassard.

Nash needs Johansen on a center, btw, why he didnt play again?

Moore and Savard showed that youngs need a chance, still give a chance Goloubef inspite of one of Johnson/Clitsome.

To Methot, he needs right player to him. I see our defense in the next year:

Tyutin, Nikitin
Moore, Wisniewski
Methot, Goloubef/Savard

Can't really compare Carter and Brass since they are both two way different types of players. I do agree that Carter and Nash need to be separated, and I agree we need Johansen to play Center. He didn't play because Richards is an idiot.

Nash-Brass-Yakupov
Umberger-Johansen-Carter

You like?

He's ok at times. He sure as hell ain't worth 3 million.

Hejda and that crap load of money is great exactly where he is. Having the most overpaid pairing in the history of the NHL at a meager 7 or so million would have made me a very sad panda. Hejda is no Hejda of 3 years ago.

Big no!!!

Brassard isnt the first line center and Carter is better center than winger. Only for finding the place for Brassard you want put Carter on wing and dont use his play?

xxx--Carter--Yakupov
Nash--Johansen--xxx

Btw, Ovechkin and Crosby are different players too and every compare them.

I hope that Brassard will be traded to TDL.

True enough. Although Clitsome really doesn't bother me. I'm fine with him as a 6/7. (I'm trying to ignore you joke... :p)

I see him as an 8. Good two-way option.

The number is so ambiguous, I've seen #8's on teams play as #4's at times based on season injuries etc... Depth is the issue with Clitsome, the CBJ need depth as long as they can fit them into the cap, waiver issues etc... I would keep him until Howson gets some guys to bump him out of the 6/7 spot...

Could be, I'd like to see your 1-8 CBJ depth chart if they are waived and lost.... Remember, real life is more than the perfect 1-6 defense every night.

Every time I go to a Jackets game (10 so far this year), there are 3 constants:

1) Dorsett plays his heart out, creates chances and will stand up to anyone. He rocked Prosser so badly tonight, that Prosser forgot he ain't a goal scorer

2) Derek MacKenzie plays with constant energy, plays very smartly and dishes out hit after hit.

3) RJ Umberger is awful. I think he's had one decent game all season when I've been at Nationwide. He ought to be thoroughly and completely humiliated when he looks at the effort that guys like Dorsett and MacKenzie put in every game and compares it to his own.

There's a lot to like about the "lesser" players and precious little to like about the vast majority of marquee players on this roster as best I can see.
