Tavares at All-Star Game

Ok, JT went in the 16th round to Team Swede.... uhhh, Team Alfredsson.

The teams are pretty cool because the Senators, Canucks and Swedes are all together with a few extras while the Bruins and Toronto and Eastern Europeans are kind of all together.

Me personally, I think JT is going to be a BEAST at this game. I wouldn't even be surprised if he ends up being the games un-quiet MVP.

Has anyone heard which skills competition he will be participating in?

I think Tavares' game would be best suited playing with Giroux and Hartnell (who goes to the net).
But I get the feeling he may want to play with his buddy Stamkos.

Hey, on a side note, anyone else look at Phill Kessel and get reminded of Syndrome from The Incredibles?

JT always plays at an elite (top ten NHL) level when surrounded by good players. Case in point, leading the World Championship in goals as a 19 year old (despite breaking his foot), And leading Canada in scoring despite only averaging 14 minutes a game last year as a 20 year old. I would not be surprised by a huge game by JT. If the NHL hasn't taken notice yet, they will after Sunday.

No but I look at Hartnell and that perm of his and I picture Napoleon Dynamite.

If he is the MVP the posts of "see what he can do when he has legit talent on his line" will be hysterical.

Yes, or that character from the Simpsons, sideshow bob.
Great player though, hope Tavares is paired with him. Hartnell is a character.

On a serious note, having Tavares show his work ethic with top players around the league could bode well for us/him going forward in terms of 1 or 2 guys wanting to come here. Can always hope.

If I had to guess I'd say he's one of the passers in the shooting accuracy competition.

I don't know if they still do it, but they had some passing competition where you had to pass over obstacles into small nets. He'd be good at that too.

I really wanted to see Tavares, Eberle, and Jamie Benn all on the same team and line. Also, I wonder if Couture is still going to hate Tavares after this weekend.

I'd personally love to see Stamkos and JT together on a line. Is there anyone else on Team Alfie that was a #1 overall? Make a #1 overall line, that would be awesome. Don't think there is.

Attention? Haven't we had enough attention over the last decade? This time I'd like to trade attention for quality NHL free agents.

I have to ask if anyone else heard this when Tavares was picked.

It sounded like JT thanked Alfredsson for taking him, and I swore Alfie mumbled something about "that was Hank", as if Lunqvist was the one who suggested taking him.

At 5:02 Alfredsson says, "I promised Henrik."

With Avery gone, there is no Ranger who I hate. I just hate the team.

This.

After 24/7 and this I can say I might just be developing a soft spot for Henrik. Seems like a respectful human being and of course an amazing goalie.

Same here. I also love Dan Girardi's game. Probably one of the more underrated defensemen in the game today.

Still hate Dubinsky though. He's always been a piece of ****.
