I honestly think playing them every night has made the team improve at them.

Luongo rebounded nicely.

I think this just speaks to the randomness of the shootout.

All these OT's and SO's are allowing the team to practice playing in pressure situations and improve breakaways in both ends. Win-win. Win.

wow, i just saw the stacked pads save everybody was going crazy over....wow. I'd say that's only second to Captain Kirk's "the save".

Nashville only committed one offence, silly.

As did almost every other opponent the Canucks have faced this year. Remarkable discipline.

This is probably the best slump I've ever witness as a Canucks fan.

Another shootout win. At least this time we can say the Canucks put in the effort and it wasn't a "lucky" win. It was an entertaining one with great chances on both sides. They suffered their usual 2nd period lapse again but the 1st and 3rd were well played with good intensity.

I officially like matchups against the Predators now. The teams have a bit of history now and there are a few interesting matchups within the game, like Luongo vs Rinne, Suter-Weber vs Daniel and Henrik, the #1 PP vs the #2 PP, and even Hodgson vs Wilson, the battle of the two 2008 top 10 draft picks.

The first goal on Luongo was terrible. As Garrett said, he double clutched on it for some reason. The third goal was just bad luck, IMO. If that goes clean through, I don't think people even talk about it. It's not like he kicked it on purpose.

You do know he made 37 saves tonight right?

Yeah, the only problem with Luongo tonight was the last goal he led in, which was ridiculous to say the least.

Otherwise he had a stellar night.

I think by winning in OT/SO like this we KINDA screwed Chicago - not saying that's a bad thing though.

Of course, I was just commenting on the goals since I wasn't really around for the live thread.

Even though he wasn't at his best, he battled and out battled one of the hottest goalies in the league. I'd like to think the team feeds off that but you never know with these guys.

Anyone else noticing a drastic drop in diving and embelishing on our team? I am - and I love it.

Luongo played great tonight. Really over the past couple weeks he has certainly inspired a lot of confidence in his game.

The team defence is in serious need of some attention. The forwards are not backchecking and applying pressure on the backcheck. Way to many odd man rushes against in the past few games. The sheer number of 3 on 2's the Canucks are giving up will eventually come to bite us.

The Hamhuis-Bieksa pairing has been overwhelmed lately and not impressive.

The Ballard-Rome pairing has been a near constant fire drill.

Giving up 40 shots to a team ranked in the bottom fifth of the league in terms of shots for per game is something I'm sure they'll address.

Agreed. But I miss getting more than 1 powerplay a game too.
