If its a keeper league I wouldn't do it. Greene is nothing special. And Mesoraco and Teheran have tremendous potential.

Lee is great but Pitching is pretty easy to find and I'm sure there's s serviceable FA or 2 to hold the fort til your guys get healthy.

Very happy with my team right now. Currently 2nd of 12, with by far the best hitting lineup in the league. Pretty much all of my hitters have exceeded or at the very least met expectations, but my pitching is far from elite, which worries me.

C: Molina
1B: Votto
2B: Scutaro (still need an upgrade after dropping Rickie Weeks)
3B: Seager (Sandoval on DL)
SS: Andrus
OF: CarGo
OF: Bourn
OF: Willingham
UTL: Billy Butler
UTL: Furcal
UTL: Heyward

SP: Beachy
SP: Bumgarner
SP: Gallardo
SP: Anibal Sanchez
SP: Zito
SP: Hammell
RP: Lance Lynn
RP: Aceves
RP: Capps

I was just offered James Shields for Andrus straight up. Is this something I should look into for a pitching upgrade? Thanks.

Yeah, I declined, but I'm thinking of doing Mesoraco and Peralta for Greene and Johan Santana.

I was wondering if I should look into trading Michael Young and a pitcher for an impact starter. I've got good depth at 2nd and got a few good starters but no one who blows anyone away. On the other hand I don't wanna sell low with Young who is having a down year.

My team right now - 16 teamer, 3rd place

C - Barajas
1b - Cabrera
2b - Young
ss - Seager
3b - Beltre
of - Bourn
of - McCutchen
of - Ethier
util - Pena
util - Kipnis
dl - Drew

sp - Cueto
sp - Zimmermann
sp - Dickey
sp - Vogelsong
sp - McDonald
sp - J. Johnson
sp - Vargas
rp - Putz
rp - Soriano

I've elected to have no bench because I have no reason to sit all my starters and instead load up on the IP and K stats while hopefully getting more wins by using more pitchers.

Wondering what the appropriate value is for Ortiz. It's a 12 team Keeper Pts(avg/ops, era/whip not included as stats) H2H league.

I could make a run with him this year considering how consistent he is, but on the other hand, I want to get value for him while I can.

Just had this offered this offered: Ortiz + 4th for D.Fowler + 2nd Thoughts?

Team for reference:

C - Napoli
1B - Teixeira
2B - Cano
SS - JJ Hardy
3B - Reynolds
OF - Bautista
OF - Reddick
OF - Pagan
Util - Ortiz
Util - Swisher
Util - Rasmus

BN - Smoak (1b)
BN - Peralta (ss)
BN - Morneau (1b)
DL - S.Perez (C)

Darvish
Haren
J.Santana
R.A Dickey
Masterson
T.Hudson
A.J Burnett
BN - Porcello
BN - Arroyo
BN - Drabek
BN - Harang
BN - Oswalt

Just took over a team from an inactive manager. I think the potential to do well is there but I've never done a keeper league before. The way we are doing it is, you keep 5 players and for next year, wherever you drafted those keepers, you lose picks for those rounds. So, say, I keep Perez and I drafted him in the 17th round, I won't have a 17th round pick next year. It's a 12 team league.

Here's the roster:

C - Montero
1B - Cabrera
1B - Tex
2B - Kinsler
3B - Lawrie
SS - Aybar
OF - Jennings
OF - Bourn
OF - Tabata
U - Stubbs
U - Reynolds
B - Avila (DL)
B - Gordon
B - Jackson (DL)
B - Jones (DL)

SP - Dempster
SP - Lilly
SP - Minor
RP - Moore
RP - Marmol
RP - Santos (DL)
P - Perez
P - Ogando
P - Ventors
P - Pryor
B - Jackson
DL - Pineda (dropping him obv)

Stats: Runs (R), Singles (1B), Doubles (2B), Triples (3B), Home Runs (HR), Runs Batted In (RBI), Stolen Bases (SB), Walks (BB), Strikeouts (K), Batting Average (AVG), On-base Percentage (OBP), On-base + Slugging Percentage (OPS), Hitting for the Cycle (CYC), Grand Slam Home Runs (SLAM)

Innings Pitched (IP), Wins (W), Complete Games (CG), Shutouts (SHO), Saves (SV), Home Runs (HR), Walks (BB), Strikeouts (K), Batters Grounded Into Double Plays (GIDP), Earned Run Average (ERA), (Walks + Hits)/ Innings Pitched (WHIP), Strikeouts per Nine Innings (K/9), No Hitters (NH), Quality Starts (QS)

So I'm debating dealing Cabrera. Playing him at first loses some value and he is easily my best trading peice. I was thinking something along the lines of Cabrera and Kinsler for Stanton (3rd round pick), Napoli (4th round pick), Uggla (5th round pick) and Nathan (16th round pick). Is it fair? I'm not sure how to value guys in keepers to much but with this I could get Stanton (who I value as a top 10-15 guy next year, potential future homerun champion) at the cost of losing a 3rd round pick next year in a 12 team league. I might not keep Napoli at the value of a 4th but it helps me this year or I can flip him for some pitching help. I'd keep Uggla at the cost of a 5th round pick, plus he is a consistent 30 homerun threat. Nathan is another guy I'd debate keeping.

So in total I'd set keepers as:

Stanton - would cost a 3rd round pick next year
Uggla - 5th round pick next year
Nathan - 16th round pick next year
Perez - 17th round pick next year

Just would need to decide my 5th guy and I might get him in a Napoli deal or something and there is a few who have already said they are keeping guys they drafted in the first round. So if I keep my top 2 picks next year, it might be an advantage the first couple rounds as many might not have picks.

What do you guys think, though, who have done keeper leagues? Is that type of deal fair? You are allow dealing draft picks, as well.

My team for the first 2 months batted .300 consistently, but gave up so many runs. Then I acquired Beachy, Capuano, and Myers a week or so ago, and my pitching heats up big time, but now my team can't hit the broadside of a barn. What a bunch of crap Already about to throw in the towel on this season

It's tricky. You really have to know when to "sell" guys and when to "buy" guys which can be tough to do. I tried hard to get Stanton in every league after the first few weeks of the season. I did get him in free agency in one league. I wanted to get him very cheap and tested the waters, as last year he started slow and then tore it up. But it can backfire, obviously, but some people I knoq refuse to trade guys who are hot. I personally determine when I think their "peak" is and if they hit it. Will their value be any higher. Right now, R.A. Dickey is number 1 on my selling list and made it known to the league. Some guy offered me Hamilton, Harrison and Ervin Santana for Freiri, Dickey and Zambrano (I picked him up like 2 days ago ). But he cancelled it within 10 minutes. This guy is in first, too

But no sence throwing in the towel now, its a long season and Ive seen amazing comeback.

Great. Brett Gardner suffered another set back. After supposedly playing this weekend, he is now set to return in mid to late August. With him and Berkman out it is crippling my OF.

Berkman, Kemp, Markakis and up until yesterday, Sandoval on my DL. I was destroying one league in the first month and now I'm in the middle of the pack, barely hangin on.

Was offered a trade and I'm really unsure as to what to do. It seems like a bunch of struggling guys then Perez and Bourn in one deal

SB is extremely close. 4 guys within 9 SB of me. I have 2 guys within 11 saves of me but as the deadline approaches, or summer goes on, more closers become available in free agency.

So I was offered Bourn, Lincecum and Michael Young for Chris Perez, Ichiro and Aramis Ramirez. Should I jump on it or is Lincecum pretty much done? I'm so skeptical taking him on, I had him in another league and he killed me.

What do you guys think?

Did my first league autodraft last night. I must say.. my team is...

Here is how it went:

1. (1) Miguel Cabrera(Det - 1B,3B)

2. (20) Hanley Ramirez(Mia - 3B,SS)

3. (21) Giancarlo Stanton(Mia - OF)

4. (40) CC Sabathia(NYY - SP)

5. (41) Nelson Cruz(Tex - OF)

6. (60) David Price(TB - SP)

7. (61) Dan Uggla(Atl - 2B)

8. (80) Yu Darvish(Tex - SP)

9. (81) Jordan Zimmermann(Was - SP)

10. (100) Corey Hart(Mil - 1B,OF)

11. (101) Drew Stubbs(Cin - OF)

12. (120) Ichiro Suzuki(Sea - OF)

13. (121) Shaun Marcum(Mil - SP)

14. (140) Dale Thayer(SD - RP)

15. (141) Alexei Ramirez(CWS - SS)

16. (160) Cory Luebke(SD - SP,RP)

17. (161) J.P. Arencibia(Tor - C)

18. (180) Adam Dunn(CWS - 1B)

19. (181) Ryan Howard(Phi - 1B)

20. (200) Jemile Weeks(Oak - 2B)

21. (201) Chris Carpenter(StL - SP)

22. (220) Alex Rios(CWS - OF)

23. (221) Brandon League(Sea - RP)

Still shocked I managed to get Uggla where I did. The first 13 rounds were off my rankings, the rest were just autodrafted. It's a 10 man league.

After the draft I put a couple guys on DL, picked up Capps and Aceves, dropped Jamile Weeks for Adam Laroche and dropped Carpenter for Edwin Jackson. Currently have a waiver claim, Thayer for Putz.

The only bad part of the draft was lack of closers. But I managed to grab a couple and put a claim in for another. I think Uggla, Han Ram and Cabrera makes a filthy infield and I found an autodraft was funner than I expected.

Where would you guys rank Bryce Harper in the MLB? top 25? top 50? Kids a stud.

Also, would it be too early to trade Beckett or Hernandez this season, or should I keep them, thanks.

Head to head league, 10 teams.

Need some help here. Do I accept this??!

I get Heyward, Tim Hudson and Derek Holland for Ortiz and Brandon McCarthy.

I've been debating on this for a long time and if any if you guys had anything to push me over the edge or back on to it that would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't do it. Holland is hurt and wasn't doing too good before that. Heyward is pretty solid but has a low average and Hudson has been decent not great.
