Just finished my 3rd and last draft for the upcoming season.
I always find that the last one I do, is usually my best overall team.
This year I took over a keeper league team from a member who went MIA. Check out this beastly infield: C - Napoli, 1B - Teixeira, 2B - Cano, SS - Peralta, 3B - Bautista.

Overall I learned alot about how to do them. You get some great steals late if you play your cards right. Avila I got slightly cheaper, I was going to go for JP and put Avila up to play JP into my hands but I couldn't pass him up for 5 bucks. For 6 straight rounds I put up catchers to try to get a decent one for really cheap. Aramis could be a huge steal, as could Romero, Hart and Beltran. I'm also dropping Jeter for probably Hudson, Masterson or Jurrjens.
I decided to go for Howard since at that point whoever I got was going on my bench anyhow
I've gotta show off my team that I feel is going to run away with the title in my keeper league. Custom settings, no saves obviously.

Team frigging sucks cause I have no steals. I always don't go after saves. Anyways. Budget is $260. Need to have 3-5 keepers out of the draft. Categories are HR, RBI, Steals, R, OBP offensively and Ks, WHIP, Ws, ERA, and Saves for pitching.

Biggest surprise was Hanrahan, one of the best closers, going for a dollar and Hart and Howard going 2 each. I realize Howard is out but still. I wanted both Halladay and Kershaw to kill every pitching stat possible, then focus the rest on hitting but they went for close to 50 each. My cap was 46 each and that was pushing it. I was stealing quite a few guys late when I had the chance over others who had less money or more positions to fill (so less money to spend on each spot). Ortiz, Romero and Swisher were stolen from others late.

Amazing value on your bench players. Swisher Ortiz and Hart can almost play as your regulars.
That's pretty amazing that you got Hanrahan for 1! I would have guessed he'd go for around the same price as Wilson.

At the time I put Hanrahan up most guys were pretty much out of money. I was putting up closer after closer each round to set myself up to get him cheap but was surprised when no one bid at all
Kendry Morales could end up being the biggest steal this year, looking great in Spring, seems to be healthy and ready to go. I bet he ends up hitting 4th behind Pujols at some point in the season.
Need somewhere to vent. Just made a couple of reasonable offers of a depth pitcher for a depth hitter (15th-22nd Rd. type guys). He wasn't satisfied, so instead of shimming the deals from underneath he builds a skyscraper on top of them (ie: 1 deal above plus my 3rd rounder for a bunch of ****ing crap).
I just dropped Mike Leake and picked up Victor Martinez, put him on the DL and picked up Hector Noesi. Im in a deep keeper league and I figure I should be able to spin him off for a draft pick next year.

Decent move. I do that with guys on the DL all the time (the good ones, obv) and then pick up the guy I dropped assuming he clears waivers with no one picking him up
I'm in 12 team keeper league. Pitching is really important in this league, more so than most standard leagues. The top point getters are usually pitchers.
I just got offered Lester for Justin Upton.
My pitching staff right now is:
James Shields
Tommy Hanson
Daniel Hudson
John Danks
Edinson Volquez
Bench:
Lilly
Harang
Bedard
If I trade Upton, I'll have to slot either Dexter Fowler or Angel Pagan into my outfield, and my hitting will be depleted (I'll still have Napoli, Teixeira, Longoria, Ichiro).
Do I make this deal? Adding Lester to that staff is nasty, and while I feel my staff is already solid, there are too many question marks (Hanson's health, Hudson's youth, Volquez being Volquez..). I could always move Danks for a decent outfielder.
So, do I make this deal? If not, would you make it if I had him add Dunn with Lester?

Honestly, I'm not thrilled with your staff. But if I'm dealing Upton I would want a better pitcher back than Lester. I wouldn't do it.
I got invited to 10 team money league the other day and joined. So glad I did. This league was full of homers drafting horribly. I love this team.
