well our team in general is pretty bad at this so im not sure if the issue is him or the team, really we want him gone because he has been overexposed most of the season and he gets easily burned by players with speed and has a knack for taking dumb penalties

Then 3 questions:

1. Can he get it out of the zone without turning it over or having brain farts?
2. Can he hit and clear the porch?
3. Can he actually get his shot to the net (actually on net)?

What would the Stars want from the Oilers for Dowell?

Though he isn't one of the players with the most skill, but from what i saw from Stars he always gives it all, can fight, hit, PK.
Noticed he has been a healthy scratch as of late, but for us would be a upgrade in the 4th line.

Though the casual hockey don't even know who's he, he's one of my favorites players.

1. Sometimes
2. This is his biggest strength he is really good at getting people out of in front of the net
3. He was good at it at first, then he regressed at it, and then he's been getting better recently

Has Souray actually been good or has he been Dallas's Foster?

A 5th is probably too much for Dowell. I have to imagine anyone who would claim Dowell as a favorite player must be personally acquainted with the man. Is he your cousin bill?

A 7th is overpayment for a player you could find a replacement for in FA right now.

I don't think Souray has been THAT bad personally. He's frustrating though with all the penalties and gets mixed up sometimes in defensive coverage. He shoots a lot and has a lot of SOG, but it takes him awhile to settle the puck for his slap bomb so it either doesn't get through or the goalie has time to prepare for it. I don't think he's capable of one-timers. I wouldn't want him back next season though so I'd take any pick for him. Valuable for a playoff team in a third pairing, clearing the net on the PK, and second unit PP. Although he stopped getting PP time the last couple games in favor of being able to get point shots off quickly.

Too bad you guys consider Larsen basically untouchable. I would love to see him on the Canucks. We need a young right handed dman to come in and play the second pairing with Edler once Salo retires and Larsen would be perfect. What would be equal value from Van?

Nicklas Jensen for Philip Larsen straight up is what I would want, not sure about other Stars fans or what Canuck fans would want to give up.

Hansen.

I suppose it would be cool to have 1/3 of the league's Danish contingent on one team. But Larsen's really shone during his limited time in Dallas. Plenty of room to grow, of course, but definitely he's a sight for sore eyes considering how abysmal many of our d-men have been this season.

Not quite ready to ship him out yet. Robi, Souray and Grossman will likely get dealt first. You guys like Swedes, don't ya? Have a Grossman.

Well I'm ignoring the OP, but how about a package of:

Chris Stewart
Jaden Schwartz
1st 2012

For

Eriksson

Not the worst offer I've ever seen, but I'd still pass. Loui's just too good, and on an amazing contract.

That's a pretty decent package, good job on considering Dallas (if you are a Blues fan).
But I'd still say 'no'. Eriksson's a real keeper.

Larsen to us is pretty much Hodgson to you. That's what I'd ask for, and I'm dead serious.

He doesn't get much attention around the league.

What kind of upside does he have?

A smallish #2 reminds me of lidstrom lite sometimes... he really drives our transition game atm not overly physical good stick work etc gets his shot through traffic consistently, that or passes it when he can't and hes FAST especially backwards

He still needs some work though

This. I would say the value is fair, but I still wouldn't do it, as I'm sure VAN wouldn't do it either.
