I'm about halfway through my second season as GM of the Flames. We won the cup this year and I'm going for a repeat. Even though I'd be starting in the middle of the season would it still be interesting to you guys if I posted stuff about the team? Also, how many seasons do I need to play until I'll be given the choice to resign or go somewhere else?

Definitely keep up with the posting.
As for the contract question, check your tracker and you'll see the length of your contract. Typically it's 3 years.

Other thoughts
(1) Kiprusoff has been great at times and inconsistent at others. His numbers are very impressive (27 W - 7 L - 7 SO 1.70GAA .919SV%) but for every two great games he has there's one that's equally horrible
(2) Getting Hejduk instead of Doan turned out a lot better than I imagined last offseason. At first he wasn't producing but once I moved him away from Stajan he got hot and has kept it going since. Stajan has been very soft, however. He'll probably be traded this offseason
(3) Schenn's numbers have been disappointing this season (in the AHL) but now that he's going to remain down there for a while I'm expecting his numbers to pick up. During his time up in the NHL he was filling in all over the roster (often at LW and for a few games C) to make up for tanguay's extended absence and he didn't look out of place at all. I can tell he's almost ready and he'll probably find his way onto the roster next season. Brodie has learned a lot from joining the team as depth during last year's cup run and has been great this season, earning him the second spot on the team's top prospect's list
(4) I have a ridiculous amount of money tied up in my defense this offseason and I don't regret it at all. $20.335M (or 31% of the cap) is committed to my d-core and half of that ($11M) goes to Bouwmester and Coburn. I made it a huge priority of mine to have great organizational depth in defense and I feel like I definitely succeeded. Sergeev, Brodie, Pysyk, and Myles Bell are all very good prospects for my club and will give me many options for addressing my club's other needs when the time comes
(5) Our prospect pool is pretty deep. In addition to the previously mentioned prospects I have: Louick Marcotte (RW), Nail Yakupov (RW), Carter Ashton(W), Alex Galchenyuk (C), Sven Bartschi (LW) and Brendan Mikkelson (D)

-No changes to roster-
It was nice to see Kiprusoff show up for this game and stop 25 of 27 shots and all three in the shootout to beat the Islanders. I'm surprised by how well the Islanders are doing this year, especially with guys like Rick DiPietro, Blake Comeau, and Bryan McCabe playing lots of minutes. I've been trying to shop Kurt Sauer around for a bit and I finally got a deal done. I saw the Islanders needed help on defense (the rating on the lineup they iced in the game we played was a 77) so I decided to help us both out:
to CGY: 3rd round pick (NYI)
to NYI: K. Sauer, 4th round pick
Sauer played great when Huskin's went down for a while at the beginning of the season but now that he's back and Brodie has proven to be a more than capable fill-in he doesn't have much of a role on this team. Following this trade I have a pick in every round except for the second and two in the first (CGY and SJS).
Rumors whirling around the league are saying that Colorado Avalanche are interested in to bring veteran d-man Nicklas Lidström, 42, to the Denver. We have been told that Avalanche and their GM Anatsu Southfield has contacted Lidström's agent and Southfield is planning to offer contract for him.
"Yes we have been offer contracts for some guys now when market opened. Nicklas is surely one of whom we are interested. He is so good and talented still at 42-years old. We are looking market closely and trying to do right moves for our organization", said GM to the press.
Another player whom has been in rumors is young center Mikael Granlund. Granlund, 20, didn't made a contract with the Minnesota Wild, so he is UFA-player now. We have been told that at leas three teams are after him.
Colorado Avalanche have traded their d-man Ryan O'Byrne to the Boston Bruins for right winger Jamie Tardif. Move gives Colorado more cap space upcoming market.
O'Byrne had 12 assists in 82 regular season games. He was one of few players to play all Avalanche-games last season.
Tardif is 27-years old right winger who was playing for Bruins when they lost in Stanley Cup finals to Colorado. Tardif had 8 goals and 7 assists in 75 regular season game last year.
"We were impressed about Tardif play against us in the finals. We have offered contracts, pretty heavy contracts, so it was "must" to move some player", said Avalanche GM Anatsu Southfield.
Our reports are saying that Colorado Avalanche have signed some free agents. Not sure yet, if this is true, but Colorado will have a press conference later toda. And this basically means that there could be some moves maiden. GM Southfield wouldn't move O'Byrne if he's not getting any good player back, we are sure.
Colorado Avalanche has signed five free agent from free agent market. They are Nicklas Lidström, Pavel Kubina, Adam Burish, Mikael Granlund and Mathieu Perreault.
We will have GM Southfield comments later, but this names have been made sure by our sources. These players are coming to Denver.
Jordan Staal had a lame season last year (82 GP, 11+20=31) except in the Playoffs (21 GP 6+8=14). So if he sucks this year in the reg. season, he'll be placed on the third line and then moved to the second line come playoff time.
Colorado Avalanche held press conference about their free agent signings.
"We are please and proud to welcome Nicklas Lidström and Pavel Kubina to our organization. They are experienced guys, Stanley Cup winners. Nicklas may be the best defenseman of NHL history. We couldn't miss this chance to not offering him a contract. He has been, with his previous team Detroit Red Wings, some kind of "beater" for Colorado Avalanche-organization in previous years. Now the fact that we could get him to play for us, it's just outstanding. I'm proud that Nicklas chose us", started GM Anatsu Southfield conference.
Nicklas Lidström at Colorado Avalanche press conference
"Pavel (Kubina) then is kind of guy what we like to have. He brings us defensive, but then also huge offensive talent. I like our defense now. We made two years contract with him, because we have kind of situation that our key players have been locked for over two years, so it was easy to sign player like Pavel for couple years. Gives us good options."
"We have also signed center Mikael Granlund from Finland with entry-level contract. Granlund gives us great piece of future. Granlund is skilled guy, little tiny, but doesn't afraid to go to corners and fight for his space. Granlund's contract, which is three years, gives us option if we won't be able to re-sign Paul Stastny with good contract. Will be playing in the AHL at first."
"Then we added two depth players. One for the NHL team and for the AHL team. Adam Burish comes to play our NHL-team. He will fight his spot in fourth line. I think he is good 13th player also if he doesn't get his place in the roster. Mathieu Perreault then had a great season last year in the AHL, we are pleased to get him to play for our AHL-team now. Great talented center, who can play on wing too."
"I think our team and organization is now ready for the upcoming season. We don't have much of space to make any moves. Maybe if we find some really good depth player for our AHL affiliate then we could sign him. But I'm not expecting any moves now", ended GM Southfield his conference.
Then Lidström and Kubina get their turn to speak to the media. "I love to come here to play", started Lidström, "Anatsu (Southfield) reached me with a contract that I didn't expect. He offered me one-year with good money and scout's place after this year. I was happy to accept it. Colorado is defending champion and I wanna help them reach the cup this year also.
"I wanted two year contract, because I'm pretty old already", Kubina, 35 years, started, "Colorado was the one who offered me two-year's contract. Also my good friend, Milan Hejduk, called me to say great things about Denver and this organization. It was then pretty easy decision to come here. This is winning organization too. I want to be good mentor for young guys. Southfield said that this one reason why he signed us, to get good mentors for players like Tim Erixon and Ryan Murray. This is great organization."

Do you play or sim your games. This has nothing to do with what I quoted lol.
Stanley Cup comes to Los Angeles!
Los Angels Kings just won a Stanley Cup, against Washington Capitals in 7 seven games! Manchester Monarchs also win a Calder Cup!
Do you play or sim your games. This has nothing to do with what I quoted lol.
Myself. I wanna personally have an effect to my games. AHL-games I sim, but I do myself tactics for both teams and look how things work. I try to manage this team and be real "manager"
Just completed the trade deadline and it seemed to be a quiet one indeed. It seems like the biggest trade came a couple days before the deadline when Nashville traded their first round pick to Edmonton for I. Vishnevsky and a fifth rounder. Calgary only ended up making two trades with the same team and neither were very big.
to Calgary: J. Lassinatti (G) and 6th round pick (BOS) to Boston: M. Keetley (G) and S. Pahlsson (C)
Getting rid of Pahlsson has been a LONG time coming. He was brought in to center the third line but he quickly lost that job to Moore and I would prefer not to spend $2.1M next year on his play (4-5-9 67GP +2). Even with the moderate numbers he produced he has not been winning faceoffs all season and he has been terrible on the PK, both of which were the two reasons I signed him in the first place. It was very disappointing to only get a 6th round pick back for him but it's better than nothing. Now Schenn can gain valuable experience on the fourth line during our cup run and I can use the pick to try and move up at the draft.
Swapping goalies was something I had no plans of doing going into the deadline but I'm very happy with how things worked out. Keetley has not been seeing any icetime with my AHL affiliate (2.77GAA but 1gp) and considering he has C potential and is a UFA after this season I decided to make a move for the future. Lassinatti is 20 years old and a 75 overall with B- potential who has a lot of room to improve in my eyes (7-9 19GP 3.48GAA .864SV%). He probably won't get too many starts this season considering I still have Irving (who's playing great) and Ramo but once one/both of them are gone next season he'll see his ice time rise.
So at the end of the deadline the only roster change I made was turning my fourth line into: R. Ivanans (82) - B. Schenn (77) - A. Asham (80)
Other thoughts
Boston showed a lot of interest in Stajan, trying to trade for him in almost every "round" of the deadline. Seeing as how I'm in the middle of a cup run trading Stajan just wasn't going to happen but he'll probably be gone at the draft and Boston could very well end up his destination. Also, San Jose offered Marleau straight up for Bouwmester and Anaheim offered Visnovsky, Lydman, Foster and Beauchemin for Jbo and Ivanans and I naturally said no to both. I just found both offers, especially the last one, to be interesting.
Also, I'd feel better about putting in the time to type up these posts if there was more of a response. Is there any way I can make this more interactive/interesting for you guys?
Just finished the 25th and final season of my Senators beagm. Have to say it was an amazing ride Just abit pissed I wont see Cory Weight (franchise player, 95 B-) get to his full potential. Here is the final roster following the Cup final loss to Columbus:
R.Wolf(95)-T.Magnusson(90)-S.Kvasha(96)
J.Bollig(87)-M.Rourke(90)-G.Fussey(90)
S.Koybayzev(81)-C.Quint(83)-T.Jung(81)
M.Lapointe(79)-S.Leclaire(79)-C.Whitfield(78)
2019-2020 Trade Deadline day as the CBJ, 9th out of 10 years
Details: Thanks to my backup goaltender, I'm on top of the West. Like 10 games before All-Star break, my team was battling for a playoff spot, with starter Markström heavily struggling. I decided to give my backup Zatkoff a try and wow, he went 9-0-1 in the last 10 games before All-Star break. Big thanks to him! Record: 37-20-6
TRADES:
No major ones. Only shipped 5 players that don't play even in the AHL, for a bottomfeeders third round pick. Fair.
Another run for the Cup I guess. Second last year, feels weird.. Oh well..
