@ bossman - Jesus, that's a very strong draft. What do you look at when picking rookies?
Honesty it was a lucky draft. I've never had a draft with b- being the lowest potential. I do have a habit of picking prospects with athleticism of 8.0 though. Maybe that has something to do with
If I was kovalchuk I would demand a trade ... Not only do you got ne playing with Stoll but you want me to do if for five years? Thank god for that new dish master Mikael Samuelson

Yeah, that could be true, but I like Stoll and a lot in this game.
Made one move still, 'cause wasn't quite happy with my defense. Traded Nick Leddy+Michael McNamee(my 2nd round choice)+1st rounder 2013+3rd rounder 2013 to Washington for John Carlson. Carlson takes Larsson's place from this year's roster. I think I will waive Commodore before season starts.
Damn.. I think I'm little bit bored with my Devils. Maybe because have made so much moves and trades. I'm thinking that I could start be a gm with Avs or Wild. Avs because there is Landeskog, who is maybe my favorite prospect in this game. In Wild is then Koivu, Granlund etc.. (FINLAND-BOYS JOU!).

if your doing the Wild, check out a few of my seasons with my rebuild of them. it goes to about 2015-2016 when i won the cup with them but heres the first few.

I suggest doing Wild, it's an awesome team that has plenty of good Potential prospects. And of course, with granlund you can go do "ilmaveivi".

Thanks guys, but I think I will go with Avs. They have pretty interesting team. Will make only couple "bigger moves" during to season. Then minor moves, if needed.

good luck! bring back Sakic =) or draft Filip Forsberg lol (i know they arent related..just nostalgic)
(I want to do this like a story/newspaper thing..)
Avalanche fires their GM Greg Sherman and Head Coach Joe Sacco and appoints Anatsu Southfield as their new GM/Head Coach
Colorado Avalanche has fired their GM Greg Sherman and his place will take Anatsu Southfield. Southfield is extremely happy when Avs owners asked him to come to Denver to take city's proud hockey team to another level. Southfield was working as a pro scout until he was offered job as a GM in the NHL.
"I want to thank our owners from giving me chance to show what I can do as a GM. I know some players well in this league and will do anything I can to improve our team. I think realistically goal for this season would be something like 6-12 places in West." Said new manager and coach to Denver Post.
When asked about trades Southfield told: "I have some pieces to move, but at this point I'm not planning to make any moves. We will look how things will go when season kicks in."
It has been rumored that Southfield's shortlist could involve top-2 d-man, left winger and some minor moves.
"Yes of course I know some players really well and have looked some really closely, but I'm not going to say now any names public. I have little list of names for whom I will try to offer. That's sure. I try to make some moves during season. That we don't have any other "top d-man" than Eric Johnson isn't secret. I will be looking to add some d-man or even couple during the season."
Avalanche and Southfield made one move though bringing free agent Eric Nickulas to Denver for two year, two-way deal. "Yes, we did that move, 'cause I know Eric pretty well and what he brings us. Two year deal was easy to made. Eric will be huge help for us, played he then in the NHL or the AHL."
We have learned that Avalanche may start season with this kind of lineup: 1st line: Kobasew-Stastny-Landeskog; 2nd line: Galiardi-Duchene-Hejduk; 3rd line: Winnik-McClemment-Mueller; 4th line: McLeod-O'Reilly-Jones. D-men pairings will go: Hejda-Johnson; Quincey-O'Byrne; O'Brien-Wilson.
Only one game behind (great win against Detroit, 4-1 being final score) and there are already rumors whirling around Rocky Mountains. Denver post has learned that Avs GM Anatsu Southfield may have interesting offers from couple teams. Our panelist's speculated that it could be Washington and Los Angeles, and those teams, because Southfield has some history in those organizations as an advisor.
"No comment", said Southfield when asked about possible trades, "It's still too early to speculate about trades, because season just got under way. We are surely eyes wide open to looking at what may happen in the market. Not just sure if gonna do something. We have some pieces, which could get some interest from other teams, as I said earlier, but with the every single move I want to make this team and this organization better."
But then Southfield also added: "We are after Matthew Corrente from the Devils. We are trying to make deal with Lou (Lamoriello) in this week. I'm big fan of Matthews, he has great talent and he will be important piece of our organization in the future, if we get deal done. I like him a lot", ended Southfield and walked back to his office to talk on the phone.
Southfield informs about Corrente after the Bruins-game
Colorado GM/Head Coach Anatsu Southfield informed press after 4-3 win from Stanley Cup-champion team Boston Bruins.
"We have acquired d-man Matthew Corrente from New Jersey Devils. In exchange to Devils go defenseman Matt Hunwick." Said Southfield.
So here's Corrente-deal, which Southfield lured us earlier. Corrente is going to play in the AHL. He has played this season two games there and have one goal and two assists in those games. Corrente is 23 years old and will be RFA in following summer.
Matt Hunwick is 26-years old defensman who has this season remaining in his contract worth 1.550M$. His contract is one-way which influenced to his trading, said Southfield.
"Also our d-man Jan Hejda got shot to his leg in this game and his status is day-to-day. I believe he will be able to play against Columbus on Wednesday."

My New York Rangers complete historic season with a Stanley Cup win!
The 2027-2028 New York Rangers went 63-14-5 beating the Detroit Red Wings in five games to win the Cup!
Winning the Conn Smythe Trophy was Fredrik Dahl who single handedly swept the first two rounds of the playoffs
Alex Carnevale won the Lady Byng Trophy for the first time, and won the Maurice Richard Trophy for the second year in a row with 51G/51A/101P
I believe Oldrich Novak could have easily won the Lady Byng with 80 points and only 6 PIM, but Carnevale had the better season.
Adam Larsson won the Norris, again.
But it was captain Tyler Seguin in the spotlight leading the NHL in scoring with 44G/67A/111P, capturing the Art Ross, Hart, Selke, and Ted Lindsay awards along with the Stanley Cup of course.

There have been couple scouts from Colorado in last Tampa Bay Lightning-games, so there is rumor going that Avalanche may make a move to bring 35-year old Czech defenseman Pavel Kubina to Denver. Because Avalanche has started season with 3-0-1 record and showed that they play really good hockey, it has gotten GM Anatsu Southfield to take a look at veteran d-man. Southfield has said that he wants great offensive defenseman, and that fits for Kubina.
Kubina will be UFA after this season and could be great rental and even great piece in future. We didn't catch Southfield to comment possible Kubina-intrest, but we think Kubina could be the player who Avalanche scouts have been looking at Tampa games.
Well what players could be on the move to the Tampa then if Avalanche acquires vet d-man during the season? We believe that Southfield could move left winger T.J Galiardi to Tampa Bay and maybe pick. Galiardi hasn't made impress to Southfield so far, so he could be on his way out of Avalanche.
It's surely interesting times going in Colorado. They have played first four games greatly and goalies Varlamov and Giguere (shutout against Ottawa) have been unbelievable good. Kubina could be the piece to make Colorado "team-to-beat" this season.

I got bored of my Calgary dynasty winning 60 games a year and decided to try a little experiment. Here is my 2011/12 Pittsburgh Penguins as of the season opener, it was quite a busy draft/offseason.

Did you ask for these trades or did the system offer it to you? I want to acquire some of these players so I was wondering. My goal is to create a team, trade for some of these players and maintain some cap space for a trade deadline move or two. Thank you.

I created Forsberg. If he's created with his age of birth (1994) how will I be able to draft him? Will he have a team, be in the draft as a player, or will he be a free agent since he wasn't created with a team in mind?

By default custom players are put in free agency.
I believe you can select what pro team they play for in the customization menu (personal attributes), or you can use roster moves to switch him over to your team of choice.
Assuming you're the one getting Vermette, good deal. Had him in a Blue Jackets dynasty and he was solid for a long time. Even on the 3rd line he produces good numbers. Personally I've never had much success with Helm so yeah, I like it.
yeah, I decided to jump ship from Avs to Detroit... currently retooling roster, setting up for when Datsyuk goes. But i'm in a race for 2nd place in the west just before the deadline right now... can't even trade Dats :p but depending on my position at the deadline (9 games until), I may go all in this year and win my first cup... then i'll have to purge in the off-season
