2nd then. He's definitely not worth a 1st, though, IMO.

I would do that

I like Frolik but he just isn't a fit here in CHicago. He will eventually get it together and have a Vrbata like career (Wont be goal scorer Vrbata is but will be better playmaker/defensive player)

The return on Versteeg looks decent at this point and Hawks got great value out of Buff/Eager/Sopel cap dump

Bowman has also done a hell of a job restocking Hawks farm system

I know he's playing well, that's why some of us want him. However, he is not worth a 2nd. A 3rd is very fair.

Sutton is drastically better then I thought he would be. Didn't get to see a lot of him as he always played in the east (Atlanta, Ottawa). Based off peoples opinions on this board I was expecting a horrible pylon... Not at all..

Sutton has been great for the Oilers and when used properly (not too much minutes) he plays great - he even has some pretty soft hands that has blown me away a few times.

Once every 2 or 3 games he'll bust out a sick toe drag dangle and create an offensive opportunity. I'm pretty sure he has the best hands out of all the Oilers defenseman.

I'm not kidding.

Don't expect much for him in a return... Maybe a 3rd tops?

At that price I'd rather the Oilers just re-sign him and get rid of Barker(want him?).

Noooooo. I'm playing a season of NHL12 as Dallas and Burish is leading the NHL in scoring. He's a beast in that game.

Well, to be fair none of us know what he's worth to your GM.

It was only like a year ago when he was traded for a 2nd round pick, and he's playing well right now.

I think the Oilers like him enough that if they didn't get the 2nd they would try to sign him for depth next year.

I think they would consider a 3rd or decent prospect, but there are a lot more buyers than sellers, and if GMs think that this draft is not as deep as past years (which is what Bob Mack said GMs and scouts are thinking) then the price for depth may be a 2nd rounder.

I'd be interested, but not sure how to balance that type of deal out.

Well, I'd assume someone like Gernat wouldn't be available. I completely understand. Although Edmonton has been drafting plenty of big(frickin' huge) defenders as of late.

Would Hartikainen be available as the plus?

As an Oiler fan I completely agree. Might even be considered a bit of overpayment, but considering what's available.

To the Hawks fans not interested in acquiring him, my only question is why? His only weakness is his skating, but everything else he brings is exactly what you want for the playoffs. The most surprising part of his game is that he actually has a pretty sweet set of hands. Devastating open ice hitter too....

I get the feeling the Oilers are pretty high on Harti, mostly because he has some hands and brings a physicality that is sorely lacking in our bottom 6.

He has developing to do, needs to get better defensively, but I think the team sees him being a 3rd line winger with potential to play with better players in the future.

I think they would add a pick for ever adding Harti in a deal.

As far as Gernat goes, tough to say. I know our head scout LOVES him. He revealed that he had Gernat ranked in his top 25 players in the entire draft, and we ended up taking him in the 5th round at like 120ish or so.

Add to the mix that he comes from Slovakia, plays in our own backyard in the W, and has been basically a ppg d-man in the CHL, I would say Stu's love affair for Gernat has only increased to a crazy new level

It's tough to find a prospect that would have enough value for the Wings to want but not enough value for a rebuilding team to want to keep him.

I could see the Oilers dealing Peckham, but not sure if the wings are interested. He's young and plays physical, could excel in the Wings system, but his skating is rather disappointing and has a cinder block for a brain at times.

Hoping we can ditch Bickell and maybe Frolik somewhere in these trades. They have, uh, "potential".
i have NO clue about Dallas' system :/
but...

Bickell+Frolik for Burish+Tousignault and/or a pick?
or how angry would Stars fans be if they parted ways w Vicour (again i honestly do no know their value within the system... sorry!)

I would be upset losing Vincour but Tousignant is all yours.

I didn't even know Tousignant was even with the organization anymore. He's virtually worthless, will probably never make it out of the AHL.

As a Canuck fan, I love that the Hawks are looking at Sutton.

They really should be going hard after Marek Zidlicky. Zidlicky would help their PP and help replace the loss of Brian Campbell.

Come on Sutton!
