This shouldn't be even close. Bonds greatness derives in part from his use of steroids, and I doubt anyone, even his supporters, would claim that he was one of the two or three greatest players in his sports history. Orr revolutionized the very notion of what a defenseman was capable of, and revolutionized the game in the process, arguably one of the two or three greatest players in the sport's history. There are lots of guys in Bond's era who hit a lot of home runs, fairly or not. When Orr played, until Brad Park arrived on the scene, there wasn't anyone for whom Orr was even comparable to. No contest.

It's crazy to think that Bonds only had one season in which he hit more than 49 home runs.

Bonds was putting up video game numbers against the competition. He became so dominant teams started flat out refusing to pitch to him.

bonds is absolutely one of the top five players to ever play the game. he may not have revolutionized the game like orr did but he certainly made it entertaining. orr may have been more dominant in his time but bonds was more dominant over a longer period.

It doesn't help that he walked a billion times.

Barry was a beast.

Need indisputable proof for bolded.

Not sure how anyone these days can revolutionize baseball. He did everything you can ask for. Outstanding fielder, baserunner, power hitter, contact hitter, great plate discipline, etc.

I'd say that only Ruth and Williams are better.

bonds should have won at least two more mvp's as well (1991 and 2000 he was better than both winners, kent was arguable) as had a career obp of .444 in over 12,000 plate appearances. he was retardedly good at baseball.

Agree with everything said about Bonds in the last five posts or so. That being said, it's still not even close. Orr was just on another level. Hands down the best hockey player of all-time.
