It's depressing to watch this team. If only they played every night like they did against the Penguins, this whole discussion right now would be moot.
Still a lot of hockey left, but we have to turn it around quickly, or we are going to be on the outside looking in. Still all of our games are against the Western Conference, so we write our own ending.
Just a quick sanity check here. We have been playing at a .647 winning percentage since the break. That's well above our average for the last 2 years. If you look over the last 10 games for each team we are 6-4-0 with Colorado, Dallas and St Louis with 1 win more than us. Everyone else is below that. Dallas will have a tough time maintaining their streak just like we couldn't do it forever, as much as we wanted to. The ship will be righted, and I think we may be swapping back and forth from 7th to 3rd in the next few weeks.

Sanity? Not this year! The world is supposed to end! This is it!

Huge game tonight...... we got beat pretty bad by the wild in our first game against them when they were the top team in the league (how times have changed), then beat them 4-2 with mcilhenney in net on 2 goals from vrby in the latest meeting. Radim needs to snap out of this slump just in time for the first win in march... les go
Any word on Hanzal's injury? I've done a cursory search for more info, but there doesn't seem to be much out there beyond "upper body." It seems a given that he's going to miss a game or two.
I ask in this thread because, if Hanzal misses more than one or two games, the Coyotes will not make the playoffs.

I think we should be alright if we get chip and klesla back during that time. Losing "he's so hot right now" is Definaetly a huge blow!

I hope I'm wrong, but it would be such a huge hole in the lineup. None of the other forwards seem able to neutralize opponents' top players the way Hanzal can, and ditto the chemistry with Vrbata and Whitney. He's been our de facto 1st-line center. I don't know. Maybe I'm overestimating his importance, but it seems to me that losing Hanzal changes the whole complexion of the team. Given that they need to play their ***** off as it is, this may be the one that does them in.
