Why not? People are complaining about our team being soft, but then include Luke Schenn in almost every one of our trade proposals. He is one of the tougher players on the team, and will get stronger and tougher with maturity. He rises to the physicality of the opponent, a dman you will need for any deep playoff runs, and will only get better with age.

Unless of course Franson is the one traded for forward help in order to upgrade on Lombardi if Burke thinks that would make the team better by using defense depth to improve the forwards.

I hope you're right that Burke is actively shopping Lombardi. Connolly, Komisarek etc to try and rid Leafs of those contracts/players and try and improve on them through trades.
