Buff and two other players were not on a team function yesterday due to flu like symptoms (reported on the Big Show this morning).........sounds like the flu might be working itself through the team

If this team were just even around the .500 mark on the road, 12-13-4, for example (rather than 9-16-4), we would be 28-21-6 with 62 points.

That is a pretty marginal difference, though relatively small, but still. If we could just be respectable on the road...

Isn't this the second time it's worked its way through the line-up? Did they mention who the other two players were?

no they said Buff and two other players did not make a team building trip in Washington and then they mentioned it sounded like the room is getting ravaged with this but it was an off the cuff statement.

This is not good timing. Seems to be our luck though, whenever we get healthy, we lose a player or two.

This is the first game all year I won't be able to see at least a bit of it Stupid midterm.

That being said, another HUGE game here against a division rival. We gotta get the offence going soon and today is the day to do it.

Go Jets Go!

As long as the other two aren't Pavelec and Mason, we have a chance. Jets 2-1.

I was wondering why Byfuglien and Ladd were not in that picture Scott Brown posted to Twitter yesterday, of the team in Washington with Gary Doer & co.

Can anyone else spot who else was missing?

I didn't see Miettinen until I noticed he was hiding (literally hiding) behind an older man on the right side.

Huge game tonight. Washington came out and won a must win against the Panthers. Not going to be an easy game. Even with their struggles this year, their lineup has a lot of firepower.

Not great news about the Flu. With injuries and illness, this team can't catch a break.

Their last game aside, Washington have really not been playing very well of late. The Jets are on the cusp of pulling one out of their hats tonight and winning; you make your own breaks.

As long as we can somehow get the W I will be happy.

Teams like Washington are hard to discount though sometimes with all the talent on their roster. You take them a bit lightly and with guys like Ovechkin, Backstrom, Semin, Johansson, Laich, etc, they can have "one of those nights" and really light you up.

Here's hoping that the Jets come out with some fire, some physicality, and not get into a game with lots of scoring chances in either end.

I think to get a W, we are going to have to try to play a boring road game tonight, tight defense, limit the turnovers and penalties, dump and chase and lay the body, etc.
